~ ZARA ~
Nestled under a golden shaft of light that broke through the massive trees overhead, was a gorgeous little cottage—thatched roof and everything. The walls and chimney were stone—and it even had little gardens under the windows, and a covered porch.
"David, this is beautiful!"
He looked a lot less impressed. "It's even smaller than I thought."
"It's perfect," I breathed. "Just us? David—this is perfect!"
He looked down at me and the tension fell from his features. "If you're sure?"
"I am!"
The only problem was, there was a steady line of servants walking out of the trees halfway around the clearing where a different path emptied them out. Like a line of ants, they marched towards the door carrying cases, baskets, wood and more, while others ducked out of the door when there was a gap and trotted back towards the estate behind us.
David frowned. "These things should have been arranged already!"
