A New Day – Part 1

~ ZARA ~

Nervous, excited, scared…

I shook my head ruefully as I sat down in front of that mirror in the bridal suite and smiled at my reflection. Or tried to. I couldn't get the knots in my stomach to loosen. It felt like I was reliving time. It was surreal.

Behind me, Abigail bustled around in the room, humming to herself and glancing at me occasionally, smiling when our eyes met in the mirror's surface.

I was, once again, sitting here with my hair dressed and the light touches of make-up that they used in this world already in place. I was wrapped in a robe because the dress was glorious, but made from a fabric that wrinkled terribly. I couldn't sit down in it until the wedding feast.

I sighed.

I was exhausted. Yet happy.

I just wanted everything to be right this time.

David and I had both barely slept, both of us a little afraid, I think, that I would disappear again. And yet, we had dozed for an hour or two as dawn rose.
