Cursed Castle 2

Slowly, Michelle took out a dark red satin from her inner cloak and placed it on the glowing book, covering the book with it. The satin was to prevent the light glowing from the blue crystal. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed the book and hid it inside her inner cloak and turned to leave.

But immediately she turned to leave, a sudden earthquake started. The ground began shaking more vigorously, causing the castle to begin falling apart.

Due to the erstwhile of the castle, it was easy for it to begin falling apart heavily bit by bit. Huge stones which were part of the building could be seen falling here and there.

Michelle immediately ran up through the steps but unfortunately the exit have been blocked.

She darted her eyes all through the sides from place to place but there was no way she could escape from. She began freaking out immediately, beads of sweat could be seen forming on her forehead as she thought of what to do but she couldn't think of anything.

Michelle nearly cursed out loud, she had searched through so many places for something or someone that could lead her to the dagger made with jade stone but she couldn't find any. And now that she had found it...

"No.. No.. Not now.." She muttered as she staggered holding onto the wall of the step. She could feel the ground she was standing on splitting.

Michelle knew how she could get herself out of the dangerous place within a flick of finger but she was wary of the cursed castle.

She was still thinking of ways to escape when all of a sudden, the ground split into two....

Oh.. No..!

She staggered abruptly, Falling to the other side of the wall. The book fell out but she had to quickly grab it to avoid falling into the splitter ground.

Not having any other choice, she used her power and chanted a spell.

However...

Unfortunately, nothing happened...

Her head spurned in disappointment as she realized something.

There was no alter, no light and she didn't dip her hands in the dark liquid which was the cleansing elixir.

"No... there's got to be a way out of here... somehow..." she grumble in fear as the part of the wall she was grabbing onto began crumbling bit by bit...

"Is this how am going to die...?" She thought subconsciously.

"No.... Never...!" Michelle thought out loud.

Darting her eyes around rapidly, her eyes suddenly caught something...

The mystical book...!

Yes...! The Grimoire..!

She hurriedly took it out. She tried opening it and thankfully it did open but strangely on its own. Surprising Michelle to the core, the pages of the book turned on its own till it got to the one Michelle needed at the moment... the protection spell.

Getting to the particular page, the book had two pages but one thing was strange. The two pages of the book were in contrast with each other. The left page was plain black and the spell was written in white while the right page was plain white and the spell was written in black. But the written spells were the same.

Without further affirmation, Michelle hastily chanted the spell on the right page.

"Etes pieus tum decate... nemeres lum decate... Uhm hum rigue nor hetes..." She chanted at first.

But it was not long before she closed her eyes and began chanting the spells repeatedly.

Subconsciously, black mists slowly appeared and bit by bit it engulf her entirely.

Meanwhile, she lost track of how long she repeatedly chanted the spells. However, the mist which covered her up began to disperse slowly.

It was only after she felt something more like liquid on her body that she opened her eyes and realized that she was no longer at the crumbling cursed castle but at the forest entrance, where she had parked her car.

"Huuuu..!"

She heaved a sigh of relief.

However, she suddenly widened her eyes when something hit her...

The book..!

Hastily she dipped her hands inside her inner cloak but the book was no there.

Panicking, she wanted to get rid of the cloak on her body in annoyance to search for the book, only for her eyes to caught something on the wet ground few foots away from her.

Michelle had to open her car door and took out her phone and immediately switched the light on.

Walking closer to it, she was surprised to found it was the Grimoire but something was off about it.

It was not glowing anymore...

She slowly picked it up and wiped the wetness of it. Without further ado she turned and walked to the car.

Slowly, she driver out of the place.

However...

Not less than forty-five seconds after she left, two huge beast could be heard growling their way out of the forest.

They were Cyclops and Cerberus, the two statues at the gate of the Cursed castle. They are the guardians of the Grimoire from thousands of years since the Grimoire was made.

But today, and for the very first time in forever..... the Grimoire was stolen by an unknown person.

And as the guardians of the Grimoire... they have to find it.

Slowly, they both turned into two humans.... and immediately followed the direction Michelle took.

*******

A muscular body could be seen laying lifeless inside a deep forest. The body was unclad, with the backside facing upwards. Small leaves of grasses and stains of blood could be seen on the body but there were no scratch or wounds.

However...

All of a sudden, the body which seemed lifeless few minutes ago... moved.

"Urggghhh..."

Alex groaned with his eyes still closed. With the intensity of the sun he feels on his body, he couldn't just open his eyes or he would go blind instantly. He had to slowly open his eyes and blink multiple times to adjust his sight to the daylight.

Once he was able to adjust, he wasn't surprised when his eyes settled on the trees. Moving his eyes around, he slowly got up from the ground. And yet again he wasn't surprised with his body and what he saw on the ground.

On ground could be seen countless of lifeless forest animals including wolves that he had shredded to pieces throughout the other day. It was their blood that stained his body from head to toe.

He nearly cursed out loud when his eyes landed on the wolves but on a closer look on them he realized that they were rogues. He couldn't help but heavy a sigh of relief but was still....

"What a waste of food..."

Alex muttered as he looked at the rodents laying lifeless here and there with some of their parts gone especially the head.

At that moment...

"Get me some clothes..."

Alex said through mind link to Ethan. This is one of his supreme ability. He could mind anyone but only wolves from far distance.

Not less than five minutes, Ethan came with the clothes. Alex didn't bother to get rid of the blood stains on his body and instantly put on the clothes.

However...

Once he was done with the clothes, they began leaving the forest only for them to stop abruptly after few steps.

Alex's face darkened instantaneously as he caught a scent all of a sudden. He didn't need a soothsayer to tell him the owner of the scent, as the scent was already familiar to him.

With his extreme super hearing ability, Alex could hear the rustling sounds of leave the owner of the scent matched on from meters away.

The scent kept becoming stronger with a steady increase as the person kept coming closer towards their direction. It was only after a few minutes that Ethan who was beside him caught the scent, since the owner of the scent was a bit closer now than before.

Alex neither moved nor turned his back since he knew the person was coming from behind.

"Leave..."

Alex ordered Ethan who immediately changed to his wolf form in a swift motion and raced out of the forest.

However...

Few minutes after Ethan left, the owner of the scent came into view and it turned out to be a young man. He seemed to be a little bit older than Alex but could only be with just a few years.

With his curly jet black hair and tall built body, he was devilishly handsome. He was wearing a dark red ancient cloak that sprawled on the grasses. The down tip of the cloak was filled with small particles of leaves his cloak caught on his way.

However...

The young man halted his steps immediately he saw Alex familiar back.

Slowly, his face changed into a devilish smirk and he muttered...

"Hello... Brother..."
