What If...

Immediately Camilla stepped her foot out of the house, the smile disappeared and got replaced with a sad one.

She loves Roman, she sure does even more than she can imagine. But, it was as though she was just a misfortune in his life. She had always been the one risking her life while he'd been always there saving her ass all the time. 

What if... Just what if something bad happens to her next time and Roman ends up not making it. She'd seen how he struggled with the demon just to save her and she swore never to allow him risk his life for hers again.

He loves her, she's well aware of that. But sometimes, love ain't enough. She needed to protect him, just the same way he protects her and that's by staying away from him.

~~ COUNTRY M, ELDER WILLIAMS'S HOUSE ~~

Meanwhile...

Williams was in the room, dressing up when there was a sudden knock on the door. His wife, Antonia walked to the door and opened it, revealing one of the guards at the pack house.

"Good morning, Mrs. Greenwood." the guard greeted and she nodded briefly. He walked deeper into the house and walked towards Williams room.

"Good morning, Elder Williams.." he bowed.  Williams nodded and the guard continued talking.

"Everything you ordered is already prepared. And as you said, she'll begin work in the pack house tomorrow.."the guard informed.

A satisfied grin spread on Williams's face and he nodded. 

"Good. Make sure she provides all the vital information, tell her not to leave any aside" he instructed.

"Will do that, sir." the guard said. 

After a little more conversation, the guard left the room.

Antonia rubbed her sweaty palms together as she walked closer to him, her heart beating hard against her chest.

"Did... Did you order a spy?" She asked slowly and the next glare from Williams made her flinched.

"How many times have I told you to stop eavesdropping on my conversations with people.." He asked, staring at her angrily.

"I... I'm sorry, I was just curious." she stuttered, lowering her gaze to the floor. She couldn't help it but recently it seems like her husband had turned into a different person or should she rather say a beast..?

To her, Williams has changed overnight since the last two moons after he came back from visit his brother at North Moon.

Williams suddenly began moving closer to her and she began shivering till he got to her.

"When are you ever going to bore me my child?" He suddenly growled and she bit her trembling lips in fear.

"We've been married for five years now and still nothing! Are you infertile?!" He yelled.

"We already did a test, Williams. You know I'm okay, I... I think the fault is from you.." Antonia stuttered fearfully.

Williams's eyes darkened and in the next moment...

"Pahh.."

His hand met with her face hard and her lips bursted in the process.

"Me?! Are you saying I'm impotent?!" He thundered and Antonia bursted into tears. She shook her head vehemently, feeling the sting on her cheek. She could feel her cheek burning right now.

"I'm... I'm sorry," she whispered in tears.

"Fredrick my younger brother just got married and you know that. If he provides a child before I do, then you're dead! I'll kill you myself!" He thundered, walking out of the room in anger.

Antonia held her chest as she cried heavily. It wasn't her fault that she was married to him. Her father forced her into this marriage and now he was gone, leaving her into the cruel hands of the man she called her husband.

Her body shook violently as she cried. It was obvious she was just a decoration in this place. She wasn't needed, even at night when Williams makes love to her, he was always rough, treating her like trash. She has never found happiness in her home and it doesn't seem like she will since everything seems to be getting worse as the days pass.

~~ NORTH MOON PACK HOUSE ~~

Ethan was set to leave, after making sure everything was intact with Alex's office, he closed the door and began walking out of the pack house. As the beta, it was his duty to make sure nothing goes wrong with the Alpha's things.

As he made his way outside, he met a few guards in the pack house, seems some of them has already left to the pack forests to guide the pack from rogues. He set to leave since the official closing time was nine O'clock.

Getting outside, his phone beeped in his pocket and he stopped on his tracks. He brought out his phone from his shirt pocket and checked the content of the message.

His eyes widened after reading the content, his phone almost falling from his hand but he quickly controlled himself.

"What the hell?!"He exclaimed, still staring at his phone with wide eyes. Almost immediately, he dialed Alex's number but it wasn't reachable. 

"Shit!"He mumbled, rushing to his car. He entered and started the ignition, driving out of the company roughly, still dialing Alex's number.

Meanwhile...

Alex finally got outside the forest and a guard quickly opened the car door. He came with the guards this time. 

"Drive.." he said immediately.

"Right away.." the driver bowed, quickly he brought the engine back to life and slowly drove out of the place.

A couple of the minutes later they were on the road. The car sped through the driveway till it finally reached the gigantic gate. The gate opened automatically and the car drove inside.

Alex came down from his car and without a word he began walking inside. He walked to his room and went in. Without further ado, he took off his clothes and walked into the bathroom. Getting into the bathroom, he began taking his bath.

Few minutes later...

The bathroom door opened and Alex walked into his room with a towel wrapped around his torso. He walked to his walk in closet and grabbed a comfortable night wear. He put it on and walked out of the closet.

Grabbing his phone, he walked out of the room and walked to his study room. Not long after he got in and sat down, Ethan entered with a tablet in his hand.

Alex looked up at him, he wasn't expecting him at that moment.

"Good evening, Alpha..." Ethan bowed his head. He was unlike Roman who was used to calling Alex by his name.

"Evening.., is everything okay..?"Alex asked.

"Yes.. Alpha Everything is totally fine, but..." Ethan trailed off and Alex raised a brow, staring at him.

"But what...?"Alex asked.

"You might want to see this.." Ethan said handing him the tablet. 

Immediately his eyes landed on what was on the screen of the tablet, his eyes darkened. 

"Ethan..." Alex gritted, clenching his jaw hard. How much he hated to see that face.

"You have to do something for me.." Alex suddenly said.

"Find out everything about her and get them to me by tomorrow.." Alex said and walked out of the study room immediately while Ethan nodded and left, getting to business instantly.

He didn't need a soothsayer to tell him who Alex was talking about.
