I woke up dissapointed to not find Elbert beside me.Today was my birthday.Much to his dismay it was also the day of the award ceremony that he'd promised me to attend.I got out of bed and sauntered down the stairs eager to see him.


"Surprise" ,he exclaimed spatula in hand.


There was a large breakfast spread out in the table.From the pancakes to egg benedict to turkey sausages to waffled,everything  anyone could imagine was on that table.


"I made it all by myself"he said proudly.


"What time did you wake up " i asked taking a seat.


"Early way too early" he answered sitting down beside me.


I dug into the stack if pancakes first and then moved on to the eggs.I was full before i even had half of what he prepared.


"Damn Elbert , you are trying to fatten me up."i quipped.


Suddenly he stood up looking very serious.He walked off into the living room taking my hand and pulling me behind him.


"What's the matter ??"i asked once we were in living room.
