WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS

Caria thinking of all these things made her face pale with fear, if this was true and the real face of her parents then she suddenly felt for safe with Victor at least he didn't hide his true face.

Because a person that pretends to be nice is very scarily as there is no telling in what they could do to achieve their goals.
