You must leave

Chapter Three- You must leave.

Nak stared at the satchel that lied on the floor. There seemed to be a parchment paper sticking out from the bag and he picked both up, noting the quill that fell out from the edge.

Opening the satchel, he found different kinds of pictures that Wara had drawn. Fascinated by it, he sat atop a tree stump nearby and looked through the pictures.

Some included strange creatures he had never seen before, the forest, a stream, an angry man who held a child in his arms and then he paused at a picture.

"This..." He mumbled to himself. He couldn't comprehend it. It was the drawing Wara had made of the stars. Somehow, it included half the people Nak knew. His hand began to shake as he stared at the faces gazing at the stars.

"What is the meaning of this?" Nak looked in the direction Wara had run off in and pondered on whether he should go after her but decided against it after remembering the reaction she had had seeing him.

"Perhaps we meet again soon but I will hold onto these for now." Nak muttered. Somehow, he felt she could hear him, as crazy as it sounded...

He stood up, hanging the satchel on his shoulder and then lifting the deer like it weighed nothing,he went through the veil.

Wara watched his back disappear through the veil and the image in the water distorted, rippling as a figure appeared behind her reflection.

"Senior Frenvìr!" Wara gasped in horror. She had been caught.

Frenvìr grabbed her earlope and pulled, forcing Wara to bend as he was quite the small man.

"How many a times have I warned for you not to do such things openly?" He scolded as Wara had been doing such at the back of the hut.

"Anyone who walks past and catch you doing such a thing will not think twice before sacrificing you!" He cried out angrily, waving his arms about and it the process, pulling Wara's ear about.

" Ai ai ai! I have learned! Release me! " Wara howled in pain as Frenvìr pulled her ear even harder.

The villagers who heard the noise took no notice of it as Wara had quite the reputation of being stubborn and would always getting a scolding or a spank from Frenvìr every now and then.

Though they never knew what she always did to anger the short man, it was always amusing as the man would always manage to make the young woman squeal in pain.

" You are not a child anymore! Why do you never listen? You gave me such a worry today! " Frenvìr cried, already smacking Wara with his free arm.

" Ai! Ai! Ai! Ai! I have learned. I will not sin against you again! Release me I beg! " Wara sounded like she wanted to cry, her ear throbbed in pain from how Frenvìr pulled it so.

"Release her Frenvìr. I am sure she has learned by now." A woman chuckled.

This was the woman who had chased Wara out of her house earlier. She had been on her way to see Frenvìr and when no one answered and she could hear scolding and howling, she had guessed what had happened.

When Wara was released, she immediately fell to her knees to thank her savior

"Oh thank you. Thank you! Thank you!" She arose immediately after and soon disappeared into the hut to tend to her throbbing earlobe.

"What brings you here so late Pax?" Frenvìr asked, getting straight to the point.

"It's Wara." Pax said, glancing at the hut for a bit. "I worry for her"

By now, Frenvìr knew what she meant and quickly hushed her.

"Walk with me." He said and began towards the stream, knowing she would follow.

"xewqat Frenvìr, Pax." A villager greeted as she passed by, carrying a basket of washed clothes.

"tislijiet Amra" Frenvìr and Pax replied in unison.

Walking alongside the stream, the duo didn't stop until they reached a part just beyond the forest.

"Sit" Frenvìr sat on a boulder and gestured for Pax to do the same.

"Now tell me Pax, what did you see?"

Pax sighed. Her eyes going glossy as she recalled the vision she had received moments ago.

In a monotone voice, she replied "The chief will receive a letter from the king. A magic user has discovered the existence of Wara. She is in danger and so is our race. Wara must leave this village before dawn and the child Zola must die."

Each sentence deepened Frenvìr's frown. "Why must Zola die? The child has done nothing wrong!" Frenvìr whispered yelled." No! " He stated strongly.

" Not all your visions are true. This one must be one of them. "

Pax suddenly turned to look at Frenvìr, a certain angry fire alit in her eyes.

" Your stubbornness will cause your death. " She declared angrily. She stood up and turned around to give him one last glare.

" Do not jeopardize the whole race for a single life. "

With that, she quickly left the stream and Frenvìr to his own thoughts.

Wara stared at the bowl in worry as it rippled.

" I have to leave but to where? "She whispered thoughtfully to herself.

Suddenly, Pax who had been walking away turned around and stared right at Wara.

Wara gasped and leaped away from the bowl.

"Be careful." Pax whispered into the wind, knowing she was being watched.

Her heart thumped loudly as she walked. The beat became faster and she leaned over, glancing around to see if anyone could see her.

"Here comes the cost." She groaned, feeling a disturbance on her arm and back.

She pulled up the sleeve of her cloth to look at her tribal mark.

There was a black like infection growing on her marking.

"If only the Dîva was real." She whispered to stare at the starless sky.

"But Wara... No that girl is nothing but doom and trouble."
