"I mean, I will only accompany you. You are too much of a hazard and I have to reunite you with your son." Pax quickly explained.

In a way, it was quite the obvious response. It was clear and understandable but the voice in Wara's head was not convinced, therefore Wara was not convinced either.

" I had been given the impression that you do not agree with me keeping my son by my side. " Wara commented immediately.

Pax had always detested Zola. She was even the one to suggest the boy be killed and looked very happy when they had been separated.

"I now understand that him being by your side is better than apart. It has only been a week and look at how you've changed!"

Wara understood now. Pax was avoiding what happened happened almost two decades ago. Somehow, she had come to the realization that Zola must have been the one preventing it.

Pax saw the understanding dawn on Wara's face and took a cautious step back. "Wha- What have you done?"

Wara had never heard fear as pure as that in one's tone before. She looked closely at Pax. The woman, albeit younger in appearance and had a slightly different Nik'sati, looked pale beyond normality.

Wara was almost concerned.

"You revisited that place. She showed you everything... We're doomed. We're doomed!"

Wara refused to listen to anymore of Pax's nonsensical ramblings and walked around her.

The woman continued to ramble and then as Wara had walked past her, something wrapped around her right wrist.

A faint memory flashed through her head, of a leash that held her right hand, stronger, more dulling, a source of fear.

now? the leash was like a web. small, and harmless.

Wara easily moved her hand forward and the leash broke.

she walked forward to find Yhra trying to attack Zelda. She held a short sword in her hand and another was given to Zelda who was trying her best to par the flurry of attacks but failing miserably.

Fjammi was watching with interest while Nak was also sitting nearby on a rock, sharpening sticks with sharp edges into the weapons he had held when Wara first met them.

«arrows» the voice called them. then it called the larger stick with a string on it a bow.

A loud clink signified that Zelda's sword had fallen down.

"Again." She heard Yhra command.

Wara watched with mild interest as Zelda picked up the sword. From the looks of it, they had just started but Zelda had been failing miserably.

Contrary to the continuous failure, the strange woman looked like she was having fun.

There was a strange gleeful smile on her lips and her odd eyes were completely still.

Wara shook her head slightly. The voice always went silent when she stared at Zelda's eyes. It was never a peaceful silence, but the type to make one's heart sink to the belly.

The sword fell to the ground again as this time, Zelda tripped.

She landed on her face this time and smiled even wider when Sica walked past her in confusion.

She quickly brushed the dirt off her face and picked up the sword.

Wara watched them over and over again. Something seemed off. No matter how many times she fell, she would always get back up with a smile. It was not an optimistic look either.

The voice told Wara with caution that the smile looked sinister.

Wara felt a presence behind her back. It was Pax... and Sica.

«they're watching you» the voice said. «They believe you are chaos.»

Zelda fell down again and Wara groaned. "Why has she not given up? she is horrible!" She asked aloud, unable to understand.

" She is not." Sica answered at the same time Pax answered "she is blind"

Wara immediately turned around to stare at them, confusion written all over her.

"Blind?"

Sica and Pax nodded. "When she's like that, she's blind. she can't see anything except our silhouettes." Pax answered like she was Zelda's mother. Sica answered after that.

"Also, have you noticed something? The more she falls, the less time it takes for her to fall. It is why Nak fears her, she can adapt to anything."

The voice confirmed what they said and then Wara looked closely. It was taking less time for Zelda to fall and the sword no longer left her hand.

She fell again and this time, finally spoke. " Warrior, can you fight without sight? "

Yhra frowned but nodded to confirm.

Sica immediately moved to go stop the whole show but something wrapped itself around his hand. A leash. No matter how he moved, he could not move an n.

He turned his head to find the end of the leash attached to Pax's hand. "Let it happen. She won't kill her."

Sica frowned so hard, Wara could see his veins. "How do you know that?"

"I see."

Sica immediately stopped struggling. He turned to find Yhra raising her sword and closing her eyes.

Wara found this spectacle amusing but then the voice immediately warned her. «I would advise you to close your eyes too, or avoid looking at it's eyes.»

Wara did not understand why, until a strange feeling of dread entered her bones. She immediately looked at Yhra, who seemed unaffected and then immediately raise her sword to parry a sudden strike from Zelda.

The roles became switched, Zelda attacked mercilessly in an eerily similar fashion to Yhra's previous attacks.

Fortunately, Yhra was quite familiar with the pattern and was not struggling at all. But then Zelda stopped and began to turn her head towards Wara in her slow, strange fashion.

«WARA, CLOSE YOUR EYES. NOW

A million voices screamed so loudly in her head, she shut her eyes out of unfamiliar terror. The feeling of dread settled over her like a sheet and soon passed.

Then the sound of a sword being dropped was heard. "I look forward to learning from you."

Can I open my eyes now?

The voice was quiet. There was the loud uncomfortable silence.

Wara opened her eyes.

Yhra was sitting on the ground, looking puzzled. Fjammi was nowhere to be seen. Zelda was walking towards the cave. Pax and Sica were nowhere to be found.

Wara remembered a particular conversation she had heard no quite long ago.

"And what about the other one? The one the gods found out about?"

"Death? We've created chaos and justice. We have also tried to create revival. Is Death any of your creations?"

"Nay it is not. But it is something I fear will cause mass destruction. I fear it has exceeded our control and will continue to devour everything."

"What a horrible creation. The most fearsome ability it possesses is the ability to adapt to anything. Our creations will destroy us!"

"We did not create death. It was created to destroy us."

Wara had no idea why she suddenly was reminded of that particular conversation, but she was sure she was forgetting something.

Something quite important, and the reason why she had agreed to see these things.

She shrugged. She had something new to do. To fight her sudden fear of the water. She would remember later.
