As soon as she had stood to her feet, she froze. The water seemed so imposing,so vast, full of promises of death.
She took a step back and another and another, till her feet hit a rock. Then she sat on it, pondering why she has suddenly become so afraid of the water.
Wara could not accept having that meager of a weakness. She closed her eyes, reminiscing the feeling of being drowned in the water. The way it seemed to gleefully rush into her mouth everytime she had thought she had broken through to shore in a desperate gasp for breath.
She thought about the way the water seemed to be thicker and wrapped around her, pulling her down back into the water. How she seemed to have been swimming for days.
How she lost consciousness for a moment and drifted to the shore before struggling again as soon as she had awoken.
Wait!
The water had drowned her. She lost consciousness. Why had she then reawoken on her own?
Wara then began to recall instances where she had healed from things that should have killed her.
As a child...
As a teenager...
Pax's spells...
The wounds in the forest...
The water...
Wara frowned. Things were all clearer to her now. That time Pax has locked her up,she hadn't been taught spells by Frenvir or Pax, she had learnt them from the voice in her head.
Purple mist swirled around her as she pondered this things. Her eyes and hair seemed to become even more of the dark color.
She seemed to understand in that moment, whatever she was, would not allow her to die. And then she looked up into the distance beyond the water.
There, she visualized a man in the prime of his years, sitting on a throne.
Her throne.
Wara knew and understood who she was now. She needed to take the throne from an unlawful brother of hers and then she could bring down the veil.
Something tugged at the back of her mind. The silhouette of a little child. Wara was puzzled by this. Why would a child be in her thoughts?
It kept pulling at her heart strings and she shoved the image further back into her mind.
She would have time for that after she took the throne. For now, she needed to discuss with the person who clearly knew how to get there, Zelda.
Far behind her,a shadow laid on the ground,a white grin where the mouth would have been. Even further away,Zelda sat on a log near where they had made a fire the previous night, the same grin on her face.
"I guess it's time then?" She spoke, her unnatural silvery eyes staring at Fjammi by her side.
The boy being addressed said nothing but smiled back at her and then vanished. Or rather, he simply dispersed in a puff of smoke that then drifted into a tube that Zelda held. She then corked it and it vanished from her hands.
She then approached Yhra, who was sharpening her sword...
.....
Sica dragged Pax with him. They had found a secluded place when everyone was distracted and now he had questions.
"Who exactly is Wara?" Was his first question. He already knew how strange Zelda was and couldn't question it. Yhra had once held a knife to his neck as they engaged in sexual activities when he kept probeing about who she was. But Wara...
There was no need to ask her when there was someone else who was definitely a seer... Or so he thought.
Pax stared at him for a moment, wondering why an accursed was following an Asimati, Nymph and that creature that the child was around. No matter how much she thought, she couldn't figure it out.
She then glanced at the leash she had created and then felt reassured that it was still strong to keep him while in this form.
Just in case
"Wara is the daughter of royalty. Both her father and mother are royalty. Unfortunately, her mother was sold to the slave traders by her very own father. Only one servant, which were creatures blessed by... Ah I'm deviating from the topic. I suppose it's time."
Sica watched and listened with great confusion as Pax rambled on.
"Yes,where was I? Her mother, as a slave was given to one of the rich merchants as entertainment, her dutiful slave was given to another. The Faery King at that time was disguised as the rich merchant. The faes had found a way to rip a hole through the veil, although it had a huge drawback on them. Yes well, her mother served the king and immediately got pregnant. The next time he came by, he found out Wara was his daughter and planned to take her with him. But his advisors wouldn't let such a child that was born from a slave come with them, I think you can piece together what happened next."
Sica frowned. He clearly knew what happened next... It wasn't that hard to imagine.
He then looked at Pax, a suspicion on his mind he did not want to be true.
"What does this have to do with Zelda."
Pax looked him in the eyes, contemplating whether to tell him the truth and then reluctantly, she did.
"Everything. It has everything to do with her."
Sica's face fell. He was right.

The fire pit was gone, everything that suggested they had camped there was gone. Zelda was wearing her strange tight clothing, Yhra was fully dressed but unarmed which was strange. Sica didn't look tattered for once, Pax was wearing a cloak and sitting on the wolf, and Nak and Fjammi were missing.
This was the scene that greeted Wara.
"We're going to the faery Kingdom. To see the King, today. Come,I have a spell to get us a way there." Zelda beckoned to Wara and she noticed they were standing in a circle.
She walked forward towards them, confused. "What's going o- ahhhhhhh!"
One second they were standing, the next everyone was free falling from the sky.
"WHAT SORT OF WAY IS THIS?!"
