Izzy was bored in her room doing nothing when someone knock on her door

hello miss, Oliver's mom is coming so I thought you would want to dress nicely said Jain as she looks at Izzy in her pajamas

oh. ok said Izzy as she rushed into the bathroom, the plan was to stay in her room all day and avoid Oliver but she guess things do fall apart.

Oliver can't believe he has to go home early today when he has a lot of work to do in his office, he doesn't even understand why his mom is paying him a visit, probably because of Angie, he had told his mom so many times that he doesn't want to get married or be in a relationship, she said she wanted a grandchild now that he is getting her a grandchild she still wasn't satisfied. he had lost count of the number of time he had told her to mind her business and stop poke nosing into his life. normally she just come unannounced but today as least she called Mike to let him know she was coming because she knows he won't pick up her calls.

he got home and changed into a grey two piece sweats. he was sitting on the living room couch dreading his mother's visit knowing that it will end in argument as always when Izzy walks out of her room looking beautiful. he didn't know she was beautiful but seeing her in a red dress with her hair in a messy ponytail just made him realise that he had never really looked at her, she wasn't this beautiful the first time he saw her, what changed he thought to himself. he didn't want her to know he finds her beautiful so he said

why are you all dress up as if you are going on a date?

is that your way of saying am pretty. she asked with a smirk

no, that is my way of saying you can't go on dates when you are carrying my child in that belly of yours. he said pointing to her tummy.

you don't have any friends, do you? she asked faking pity.

I don't indulge myself in human stupidity. he said

human stupidity? is that what you call friendship? she asked with curiosity wondering what is going on in his handsome head.

humans tends to attach themselves to one another seeking validation all in the name of love and friendship, it's extremely ludicrous, I don't get why humans cling onto someone, you don't need friends when you have yourself. he said with pride.

just when I think I can have a normal conversation with you, you just ruin it. she said with a sigh

he chuckled while she just shook her head. she was about to say something else when Mike walks in with Oliver's mom

hello son, hello beautiful lady, are you my son's girlfriend asked the elegant woman who has just walked in the room. Izzy wondered how old she is, she looks too young to be his mother but then again when you are rich even old age ask for your permission before it appears.

mom, she is not my girlfriend, you know am not in any relationship said Oliver in frustration

how is the baby? asked Mrs Matthews to Izzy completely ignoring Oliver

good, when you go for checkup please invite me, I will go with you because I know my son is the most annoying human on planet earth she said with a smile.

which Izzy returned.

how did you meet my son? who fell in love first? I know it's not him because he has a heart of stone. said Mrs Matthews still smiling at Izzy. Izzy realized that she got the whole situation wrong, apparently she thought Izzy is Oliver's girlfriend.

he says that all the time but really inside he is just.... she said taking Izzy's hands in hers. Izzy looks at the sad lady holding her hands and she came to the conclusion that Oliver is just like his mom, cutting people off before they could speak.

you see he is chasing his mom away said Mrs Matthews sniffing

dear God said Oliver massaging his temple knowing fully that his mom is faking it. but Izzy didn't know, all she saw was Oliver's mom crying because her son asked her to leave.

you don't have to leave, you can stay all you want said Izzy hugging the crying lady.

are you kidding me? asked Oliver

can't you see you are hurting your mom, how can you ask her to leave? asked Izzy annoyed at Oliver

can't you see she is faking it. said Oliver

I will be going now, let's go shopping sometimes dear, I like you. adios. said Oliver's mom as she waves with a big smile and left having accomplished her mission. Izzy couldn't understand what just happened, one minute she was crying, the next minute she was smiling widely, rich people are weird she thought to herself

you know, at first l thought you were just kind and a goodie two shoes but now I think your are just plain dumb said Oliver to a surprised Izzy.

she was faking it wasn't she said Izzy with realization dawning on her

finally she gets it said Oliver in mock happiness

well it's not my fault. you were not nice to her anyways said Izzy with her hands on her waist.

I can't deal with this said Oliver as he turns to leave

I have to keep an eye on you before your kindness puts my baby in danger said Oliver as he walks up the stairs smiling to himself with the way Izzy defended his mom against him, maybe she isn't as bad as he thought but then again it is better not to trust than to trust and get hurt, he had learnt that lesson a hard way and he has no plans of going back that road.
