How do I Leave you?

Erin's stomach felt nauseous and her breasts, tightened with the letdown of milk as she watched the peaceful, little angelic face of three-month old, Dylan Yang sleeping in his newly furnished room.

She wore a gray, check patterned suit and red heels with a crisp white shirt.

Today was going to be her first day back at work, and although she wanted to get back into a routine and a steady lifestyle, she felt split between the two paths laid ahead of her.

To choose between the desire to support her husband's company and test her limits career-wise, or to listen to her maternal instincts and give her son, her undivided and complete attention.

What do I do? she thought.

"How do I leave you?" she whispered to the calm, content child as he lay arms and legs spread out with a hint of a smile, dreaming of milk and happy faces.

Daniel leaned in the doorway of the room, watching Erin, suited up but stuck in her place.

He checked his watch and spoke quietly, "Do you want to stay?"
