118 Heart to Heart

Over the next couple of weeks Lina played the peacemaker between Will and Julie. Each as stubborn as the other, they both refused to give in and apologize.

"Why should I apologize?" William said trying to justify himself.

"I haven't gone through and seen half of the crap that I've seen in my life to go apologizing to fourteen year-olds. It's called respect. She has to learn to respect me and you too Lina."

"I get it," Lina said fixing her glasses, "But she's a kid. You have to make the first move. Otherwise she'll never feel like she can open up to you and tell you things."

"She has you for that," he said laying back on the pillow and staring at the silky white material that covered the bed like a canopy.

Lina felt awkward.

It seemed that Will really depended on her to be Julie's confidant and friend. A role more suited to a parent; A proper parent.
