CHAPTER 139

The next day, Amelia had a really busy and stressful day at work. She had a lot of patients to check on, and one of the patients' families wouldn't let the doctors do their jobs, so Amaa had to spend an hour persuading them to let the doctors do their jobs when they weren't doing anything wrong. After all of this, her head was pounding like a drum.

She went to the cafeteria for lunch and found just Chloe and Kaylee there.

"Are you alright? You don't seem to be in good shape," As soon as Chloe saw Amaa's exhausted and pale face, she asked her.

"I'm fine," Amaa responded, "it's just that my back and shoulders hurt too much."

Amaa sat down after Kaylee pulled out a chair for her.

"Maybe you should take a half-day off. Return home and rest," Kaylee suggested.

"I don't want to go home. What will I do at home now that Dylan is at work?" Amelia replied as she took a bite from her lunchbox. Her mouth watered as soon as she saw the food, as though she hadn't eaten in a year or two.
