Regrets

"You- you're joking, right? Minnie, you must be joking! You are pranking me, aren't you, because I have just scared you. Right? Minnie, say something, please say that you are kidding!" He screamed, hugging her tightly.

Manya looked at Arjun, who was completely freaking out at her news. Nudging him to walk, she spoke, "Juno! Calm down, calm down, let's go. Let's go home, we will talk about it later. Everyone is seeing us-"

"I don't care, I don't care about anyone watching us! Just tell me that you are lying, or else I won't be going anywhere-"

"Arjun, our engagement is right at the corner, don't you want to go shopping for that!?"

Manya took the initiative to distract him from the previous discussion of theirs, or else they would definitely be the subject for the headlines of the next day's newspaper.

*Arjun looked at her shock; what was going on in her pretty little head, he wondered. Wasn't she just running away from home, and was demonstrating all the fury of hell just some hours ago, because she didn't want to get married, or wasn't ready for the engagement. And now she was ready to go shopping all of a sudden?!*

He was in the middle of his thoughts when he felt the grip on his hands and was pulled in the opposite direction.

He glanced at the girl tugging him along and noticed that the side corner of her head had a little scratch, and her elbow was also bleeding. He reached out and grabbed hold of her elbow quickly, saying "Minnie, you are injured, we need to go to the hospital."

"So are you! This is why I want you to come with me, let's go."

She spoke and am aporoy car came to a halt in front of them, for which she had texted while Arjun had been busy whining.

She dragged him inside the car and made him sit there, and indicated for the driver to start.

She didn't want to talk in the car, so she just put her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. He wrapped his hands around her body and pulled her against his side, fearing that she hadn't put on the seatbelt and might end up hurting herself.

She winced a little as he mistakenly brushed against her elbow in the process, and he quickly removed his hand from the place and moved it further.

*It was the first time that he had felt the same intensity of love from Manya. He had been thinking all this time that there was indeed love and care coming from both of them equally, but the intensity was low. But what had happened that day had made him realise that she did indeed love him more than he had ever thought. He looked at the peaceful face of hers, laid against his arm, as it was the most valuable treasure of his life. He couldn't compare anything in his life in exchange for the bliss he had at the time. He also put his head on top of her head lightly, resting his nape against the seat, and thinking about what she had just told him.*

*Manya, on the other hand, was in her safest place. The place that was able to calm her down and give her peace at the same time, the place she had always craved for. The warmth of his embrace was her home, the home she thought she had been deprived of, the home she had dreamt of hundreds of times. It wasn't really a place, but the embrace of this person, who was indeed written in her destiny, but not in the way they both wanted. They were written to meet like the parallel lines of a track, which always stayed together but could never meet. But she didn't want to live this life, she was willing to give everything; she was willing to pay any cost for getting to live the life of her dreams. For the first time in her life, she was feeling the pain of being alive- but not in the form of the disgust of surviving alone and being a curse for everyone; but in the form of not having enough time to spend ...this regret was new, she wanted to stay there for her entire lifetime ...she wanted to wake up by his side every morning and lay by his side every night, she wanted to watch the stars on the sky with him, she wanted to touch the waves of the water with her bare foot on the shores with him...she wanted to laugh with him...she wanted to cry with him but she really doesn't know how these all were possible as she didn't even know her condition and was still afraid of going to the doctor….what if they told her that the disease, she was suffering from is incurable? What if she didn't have enough time to live?...what if she ..she is on the last stage of her disease and on the nearest stage of death ...she tightened her grip on his shirt as if someone is pulling her away from his embrace.

Arjun noticed her grip ,which tighten and this was when the car stopped.. he looked at her who was still keep closing her eyes so tightly , as she is afraid of the monster which will appear in front of her as soon as she opened her eyes..he didn't wanted to disturb her , so he indicated the driver to stay quiet and stayed in the same position for a while ..he then noticed her grip loosening and her breathing becoming a little slower and calmer ,he knew she was asleep by now , he looked the time ,it was almost eight..she must have been very tired. He thought and pulled her in his arms and stepped out of the car as he was carrying a little child in his hands.

He entered the house and this was when he understood that she wasn't lying after he noticed the car stopping in front of her house, not her parents' one!

Now he has time to evaluate and process everything from the very beginning but first he needs to know her medical history and for he needs for her to wake up.
