New job in Kolkata

"What!!" Raunak's jaw dropped as Drishti gave him hydrangea. Actually she wanted to surprise him. As Anand came with them to their house, his assistant brought those later.

"What what!! That's for you." Drishti frowned. Was she that much aloof to make Raunak think she couldn't gift him flowers.

"I heard you don't like flowers." Raunak raised an eyebrow.

"Who said that?" Drishti asked.

"Your friends." Raunak smirked.

"Damn those boys! They are spreading false rumors about me. I do like flowers. Who doesn't like flowers actually? I just don't like to pluck them. If we don't pluck, flowers can get to live for at least more few days, in trees. It will die within some hours. Why just waste a life, tell me?" Drishti gave him a long lecture which made him think she was really a female chauvinist as her friends said. She didn't want to spend some flowers on her happiness.

"So you like flowers?" He wanted to confirm.

"I do. I play with those when they fall on ground. And I know you favourite is hydrangea." She smiled. Standing in front of him, she tiptoed and kissed on his forehead.

Raunak never knew she could guester something that affectionate. He pulled her by waist to take in a tight hug, "I would have preferred that on my lips." He smirked at her.

She punched on his chest, "I was trying to giving you gifts. I went to shopping just for you." She pouted cutely.

Raunak was really happy. But he didn't know why suddenly those things changed inside her. She handed him the tie that she bought earlier.

"That's beautiful." Raunak must say she had a great choice. He really liked it.

"Suddenly why all those gifts?" He couldn't hold back his curiosity anymore.

"Come on! Can't I give you gifts? Actually I felt sad. I was feeling the equity is missing in our relation. I always get priority from everyone even from you too. You never said what do you like but always cared for mine." Drishti lowered her head. Her words made Raunak frown. She started to overthink about it. He never thought like this.

He patted her head a little and placed a finger under her chin to make her look at him, "Don't overthink Dri. Things were never like this. Everyone likes you because you are worthy of that. I know sometimes I act jealous of the privilege you get but I feel happy from the bottom of heart. If I really got jealous, I would have forbidden you to hangout with your stripper friends." He pinched her nose.

"My friends are not stripper. Don't joke about them." Drishti rolled her eyes.

"You started it first. Anand also did it in his mission. Why can't I?" Raunak knitted his eyebrows together.

"Are you in my friends zone?" She mused. The playfulness in her tone made Raunak huff.

"I can show you actually." He winked at her.

"Stop now. I have made your favourite aloo paratha. Come to the dinning table and take Anand bhai with you." She freed herself from his embrace.

"How did you know it's my favourite?" Raunak never said her.

"Secret." She guestered a kiss towards him and went downstairs. Raunak was dumbfounded. Maybe Raunak heard about her from her friends but she was actually not like that too. She just like to keep her real heart hidden. He still had a lot to know about her.

When they completed their dinner, Raunak asked Anand to meet in the study room. Drishti forced Anand to come to their house as she felt he needed someone to make him understand. He would overthink if he stayed alone. Though Drishti felt suspicious about their secret talk, she thought to give those friends some privacy.

"Are you angry with me Anand?" Raunak asked in a low voice.

"Why? Why would I be angry with you?" Anand didn't want to let him know.

"I thought the same before. But about my misbehaviour with Dri what you said made me think you were angry." Raunak never felt that before. But what happened with his mom actually hit him a little. Anand's dad did wrong to his mom, as Raunak tried to. Maybe the situation was not same, results were different. Yet Raunak was feeling something sad.

"Yes, I was angry. I thought I wouldn't talk to you. But the moment Dri forgave you, I forgave you too. It's about you two. I was not the sufferer here. I had no rights to say." He smiled, "I know what you are trying to say. You are trying to make me forget all those. Not possible Raunak, I was the sufferer there and my mom didn't forgive him. She didn't."

"He's not saying to forget all these, bro." Drishti was curious about their talk so she thought to eavesdrop but didn't think things would go like this.

"No one can forget their past. But people can learn. You learnt it too. I think your mom would be happy if she sees you be good to your wife. And that won't happen if you don't give your life a chance." Drishti explained to him. She knew Raunak wanted to say the same but couldn't express properly.

"You want me to marry Avantika?" He asked curiously.

"No, it's not that you need to marry Avantika, it's not even you need to marry. You just need not to act reluctant to fall in love. You are just holding yourself back." She sighed.

Anand knew she was true. But jevwas afraid.

"Avantika resigned from MI. She doesn't want to work with Amal Mehta after knowing about your past. She still loves you bro, don't break her heart." Raunak already made a mini investigation. He found her similar to Drishti. Both if them liked to love secretly.

"What!?" Anand shook his help feeling helpless. He was feeling sad about Avantika though she could join her family business.

"And she's coming to Kolkata with Maya Di." Drishti fulfilled the information.

"Why is she coming here? Dri, I didn't even think about the matter. Now if I look at her in front if me, I don't know what to do. I don't want to hurt her." Anand sighed.

"As if she cares about you! She got a job offer from Banarjee's, I mean Manav bhai. She is going to be the chief financial officer there. She came for her career, duh! She doesn't give a damn about you." Raunak rolled his eyes at his confidence. If he could get a wife like Drishti, he would feel how useless these words were.

"Guys! Give me a moment alone." He requested to them. They nodded and left him.

"Did Manav bhai do it on purpose?" Drishti curiously asked Raunak once they reached their room.

"Nahh! She got the offer even before Anand went there. Just the company needed time to recruit them." Raunak chuckled at her thoughts.

"Avantika is not Bangali, right?" She needed to talk in hindi with her. Drishti was not that bad, but not so good in himdi actually.

"Neither Anand is. " Raunak gave her a sympathetic look, "Now leave him as he is. I think you need a reward for giving too much effort in shopping." He smirked like a devil.

"What do you mean.....mmmmm" She couldn't even ask properly when felt him kiss her softly. He was so soft and slow, yet so sensational to make her toes curl just with a kiss.

"You know what I mean." He winked.

"What are you doing?" Mitali was looking at Deep with confusion as he took her designs away.

"Nothing. Just come with me." He started to pull her by hands.

"I'm working." She whined.

"Your dear boss come brother is back. I will tell him not to scold you." Deep smirked. He didn't give her any chance to protest and picked her in a bridal style. He took her outside and made her sit in his car.

"Are we going somewhere?" She didn't know what's going on in his mind. When he nodded with approval she looked at the shirt and trouser she wore at home.

"Don't worry. You look cute in them." He chuckled which made her cheeks red in heat.

"Where are we going?" She was growing curious.

"Mmm...where do you want to go?" He didn't know himself. It's just he wanted to stay sometime alone with her. At home she was always busy in works. So he took her out.

"Seriously!!! You took me out and asking me about it? I have meetings tomorrow!!" She wanted to cry. She couldn't take advantage for knowing Mohit. It was unfair.

"Let's go to rabindra shadan. We will watch theatre together." He knew these places because of Drishti. She used to

roam around Park Street, Chowrangi Road, Rabindra Shadan in the evening. Even Dhara was there too. he missed those days.

"Theatre? Which show is available in this late night?" She was never into cultural events.

"One is available now. I have already booked tickets for us." He smiled. It was fun to enrage her a little. She looked cute in red cheeks.

"But I'm in those...." She didn't know how could they watch a show in night dresses.

"I don't mind." He pouted.

"But I do." She argued. He pulled the break suddenly. Looking into her eyes, he smiled, "Well, let's walk in the night city."

Mitali looked at his expectations. She didn't want to refuse. So she agreed with him.

Taking her hands into his, he started to walk. When the cold breeze touched her warm body, she shivered. Deep top of his coat and wrapped around her. Unknowingly she leaned against his warm body more. She still didn't know the untold affections between them.
