Seeking help

"Sir! Someone is here to meet you." A subordinate informed Anand. He was in an interrogation room, sweaty and ferocious.

"Let him wait." Anand was in no mood of meeting anyone. He had a lot of works to do.

"Sir, it's a she. Asha Mehta."

Anand froze with the name. He never thought she would come to Kolkata just to meet him. keeping all the thoughts behind, he agreed to meet her. The sub ordinate was really curious to know who she is. He never left his work undone even for Drishti.

"Try to open his mouth. Fast." He left the room not before indicating the suspect sitting in the room.

Noticing Anand was in his office, Asha looked behind. Her eyes were fluppy and sallowen, red due to constant crying, dark circles under eyes and her hair was slightly messy. He frowned at her distressed sight.

"Bhai, you are here." She sighed.

"Why are you here suddenly?" His voice was cold though I buried a lot of emotions deep down.

"Dad is hospitalised." She bit her lips not knowing how he would react.

"Nothing to do with me." He snorted.

"Bhai, please listen for once." She was pleading to him.

"About him, I've nothing to listen and nothing to say. Understood?"

"Bhai, don't so this. He's in the hospital, dying. He needs blood, o negative. We didn't find any donor. You are the last hope. You two have same blood group. Please." She was crying. She came here with hope. He was the last person to help her.

"Oh! I have the same blood as his." it was like a mockery to his own existence. He had the same blood of the person whom he hated most, "If it is urgent, then I will be late to reach there."

"It's not urgent. But we need it in two days or three, that's what doctor said."

"I can't go, Asha. I do government job. I can't leave station without permission, at least when I'm into a confidential case."

"pff! I knew it. Still Avi pestered. You can go, you don't have any problem to take station leaves. You can go for work or without even. I know you can manage permission in a few minutes. But you just don't want to help. I know you won't help because you don't like him. You had your mom after all. But fir us, he was our mom and dad. He is everything. I'm sorry to bother you, I'm going." She left without even looking a him.

Anand was feeling he was really unlucky. They were on their dad's side. Did they ever try to know the truth? They just agreed with what Amal Mehta said. Did they ever try to know if his mother was really with him or not? They just accused him. Why would he save the person who ruined his whole existence, who called him a bastard?

He didn't lie. He couldn't afford station leaves for some reasons but she was right too. It was not hard to manage. He was just being reluctant.

"Sir! The suspect gave some information." the sub ordinate came running all the way.

"Got it. I'm going." He sighed.

"I need to go for a business trip for some days. I know you won't miss me." Raunak said while looking into his laptop.

"Why will I? I have my books to accompany me." She mused.

"So true. My step husbands are here." He rolled his eyes.

"Step husbands? Shit! Raunak, are you jealous of those books? Seriously?" She gave him a silly look in which he pouted.

"You sometimes behave like a kid." She frowned.

"And I sometimes feel like I am married to a library."

"I will miss you, don't worry. But what's the matter now?" She was really curious. She knew Raunak liked to keep a low key in abroad so he hardly went on trips by himself. He had an expert group of board members to manage those for him.

"Nothing! Just a business event in Singapore. I need to attend." He informed.

"Hmm, with a date for a night. So who's gonna be your date there?"

"I have someone in my mind. Very sweet and gorgeous." He smirked.

"Sweetness overloaded. Don't get diabetes. By the way don't forget to send me her pictures. although I'm not into make ups, I can still give sone tip....to make her look good beside you." She made an innocent face.

"You aren't jealous?" He wanted to cry. Why she was so indifferent in these matters?

"Why would I?" She asked with a smirk.

"What if someone sees those abs of mine. It's your property, right?"

"Those abs? Seriously? I mean, I have seen better. If she wants to look at yours, just text me her number. I can give her a list of persons with perfect and better abs than yours."

"Are you degrading me, sweetheart?" He smiled bitterly. He had perfect abs 0nd he was confident.

"How dare I? I was just stating the truth. I was in Germany, dude! I used to go in wrestling foundation with my friends. I have some friends there." She explained.

"Arghh! professional wrestlers?" Raunak was dumbfounded. Did she compare him with professional wrestlers? He was really good at fighting but professional wrestlers were something else.

"Believe me, if you look at their abs, you will fall in love with it." She was trying hard to control her laughter.

"Go to your husbands. They are waiting." He pouted and straight went to his study room with the laptop.

When he was out of sight, she burst out laughing. He tried to make her jealous and ended up being jealous by himself!

Husbands, huh?

Did he just compare those books as husbands?

Such a kid!
