Blood donation

"Are you having any problems in your company now a days?" Drishti asked seriously. She knew there was something bothering him as Mayank said. But Mayank was not someone to take care of his businesses. He could only guess.

"Nothing much. Just I need to go to the business event. Long time I didn't show up. Those people got wings." Raunak didn't care about these trivial matters too much, he could handle them so easily.

"So confident, huh? Best of luck." She gave him a bitter smile with a small nod.

"Of course I'm confident. Or else I couldn't have manage the whole empire from here. I know each and every move of my employees and that's why I'm so much feared." He smirked at her.

"That describes how you couldn't get my relationship with Mayank." She smirked back.

Raunak gritted his teeth. Was she mocking him?

"What do you want to say? I can't manage my office in the trip?"

"When did I say that? Of course you can manage your office so good. And I'm not even a CEO to measure our capability, merely a minor shareholder in two companies. I wouldn't dare. I was just wishing you good luck." Her tone was calm though there was a slight amusement sparkling through her eyes.

"Umm...I will go to Germany in those days. I need to meet Blake. After all I need to meet my godchild." She informed him.

"Why everytime I plan a trip, you make a plan as well?" Raunak was curious.

"Not to miss you for a long time." She made puppy eyes.

No way Raunak could believe her words. She was never that honey mouthed.

"Sometimes I doubt you too much." He said through his teeth.

"No wonder, you are the best friend of most efficient police. You have got some good guesses from him." She patted his shoulder.

"So are you saying you are not gonna miss me?"

"Why? Do you want me to? Then what about my husbands, huh?"

"Drishti, You are being so rude to me. you need some punishment." He rolled his eyes.

"Your highness, let's talk about it later. For God's sake do you know anything about Anand bhai? What's he doing actually? He's not picking up my calls." Drishti texted her friends to know about him but everyone replied the same.

"Anand? He's going to Bangalore, with Avantika." Raunak informed.

"What!!? Why with her? And why Bangalore?" She was clueless about the situation.

"His dad is hospitalised. Asha came to meet him. Maybe that's why. Sometimes I can't read his mind. He became too reserved this days." Raunak sometimes couldn't recognise him like before, he was growing cold and aloof day by day.

"Why did he actually go there? I can't believe he went just because Asha came." Drishti was confused.

"Neither can I. But he will be back in the next flight. I booked his ticket by myself."He sighed.

Bangalore

Hospital

Anand was sitting in the waiting area with an emotionless face. His dark and deep eyes were dry, without any liquid. Those gritting teeth were clenched hard, muscled tensed. He was in another world of thoughts until the doctor called.

"Mr. Mehta."

Inhaling a deep breath, he looked at him.

"Mmm....Mr. Mehta. You are having blood insufficiency in your body. You were bad injured and lost a lot of blood last night. Why did you donate blood then? You are going to be weak." The doctor asked.

"None of your business." He replied rudely. His answer made the doctor gulp. He didn't understand what the hell he said wrong!

"I'm going to call Mr. Avinash Mehta. He's really tensed about the donner." Doctor sighed.

"No need." Anand replied instantly, "I need to catch a flight. I don't have time to meet him. I'm going."

He stood up from the seat when the doctor frowned, "Well, you need to take care of yourself. Eat more. I've already given you a prescription of diet and medicines. Please follow it carefully. You have become so weak with the sudden blood loss."

"Thank you doctor. Let me leave first." He didn't wait for a second more. Outside the hospital, he found Avantika was waiting for him.

"I didn't say them that you came." She informed. She really came to meet Amal Mehta. Though she was an employee in his company, because of the family business, she was really treated nicely by him. So she really had a sift corner for the person.

"Thanks." Anand was not in a mood of chat. He came here only because of his mother. She always taught him to help others, no matter how badly he treated you or how bad he was. Though she couldn't forgive Amal Mehta in her lifetime, she could've forget the love she had for him. Anand didn't want to disappoint his mom who was watching him from the heaven. Moreover he still loved Asha and Avinash a lot. He knew how it feels to lose the only guardian one had. He didn't want them to become orphan.

"They asked about you." Asha again opened her mouth, a little hesitant.

"Yeah, because they need me now." He smiled in pain. He knew his siblings loved their father a lot, they had a lot of complaints again their mother. Yet sometimes he felt they actually never cared about him.

Avantika couldn't say anything. She knew he was not completely wrong. When he returned to Kolkata, they didn't contact him as they should do. They always blamed their mom not wanting to know the truth. But she felt Anand also needed to give them time.

"Why didn't you meet them?" She again asked. She found their family crisis was really complicated.

"Why would I? To listen to the guilt filled words of Amal Mehta? Not interested actually. His guilt can't give me my mom back or lessen those struggles of mine."

"He wanted to meet you." She sighed giving him a hint of the critical health issues. It could be his deathbed.

"I didn't take the responsibility of fulfilling his wishes. That's enough to donate the blood he needs. And I can't waste time or else I'm gonna miss the flight." Anand sighed in his mind. His mother also wanted to meet Asha and Avinash before death. She even tried to reach them but everytime Amal Mehta stopped her. Why would he be so soft on the person who ruined his life?

"Oh! When is your flight?" She wanted to divert the topic.

"Just in two hours."

Before she could say anything more, she noticed he got a call. Maybe it was urgent, she thought.

Anand smiled a little noticing the caller ID. He looked at Avantika again, "You are going to stay here for the surgery right? Well, if Amal Mehta gets survived, ask him how does it feel to have a bastard's blood in his body. I would love to know."

Avantika was looking at him with daze. She was shocked with the silent punishment he tried to give to Amal Mehta.

The moment he ended the call, he looked at Avantika with a faint smile. With a deep sigh, he asked, "Do you really like me?"

She blinked twice. This was a great shock for her.

"No force, no rush. I know it is not a good kind of question. Even I was the one to refuse you at first. But if you think I'm good, you can give me a chance. Think about it. I'm not rich like your family. I don't have so much money. Yeah, I lead a luxurious life. But not that much too. I can't live lavishly as you live or as my friends do. I have a small home, a few friends. I have no parents. I know you liked that poor driver. But I am not that driver too. My life has no assurance. I can't give you enough time all the time, neither I can have weekends too much. I need to go for missions now and then."

He took a deep breath, "If you like me, don't like the Baldev. Because my life is much harder than you think. Think about it. Think a little more. If you think you will be okay, I will gladly accept. But you can't go back after stepping into my life. You may have life risks because of me. And one more thing, my life is dedicated to the country. It's always my first priority. So take you time. I'm going."

He didn't look behind before that. He just kept walking. Avantika was standing there in a daze. She loved him for sure. But she never thought in the way he said. He was right. She needed to think more.
