Argument with shareholders

Seven days have passed in a blink. There were post funeral rituals and a huge work pressure. Ragini started to accept the death little by little. All of them almost composed themselves as they knew it's the time to fight against their fate.

Raunak needed to work hard these days. He needed to manage his own company as well as Rajiv's from the behind. The shareholders were being unreasonable but he won't leave them so easily. He was missing Mayank so bad. If Mayank was there things would have been a little easier.

When he was thinking all these, he heard a knock on the door. As it was lunch time didn't expect anyone to come. His newly appointed assistant informed it was Mr. Amal Mehta. His name made Raunak sigh automatically. For God's sake, he was not in a mood of argument.

"Mr. Mehta, you are here." Raunak gritted his teeth trying to give a polite smile.

"I need to talk to you about something." He made himself comfortable on the chair in front of Raunak's desk.

"Something....." He raised an eyebrow.

Was Anand a thing to him? yet?

"No, I mean Anand. I heard you are his best friend. And as much as I noticed he really listens to you. Can you ask him to return to Mehta family?" He came straight to the point not wanting to waste his time.

Raunak laughed a little. Did he really thing Anand listened to him? He only listened to his own and the law.

"I'm sorry. I don't want to meddle into his decision. His family, his decision. I can't pester him. And I don't want to. He's okay however he is. He doesn't need the power of Mehta family. He suffered a lot, let him be in peace for some time." Raunak didn't want to argue with him. He knew thus request could break their friendship. But they were not only friends, they were family. Anand is really happy how he was.

"Mr. Sen, I can help you in solving Rajiv's matter." Amal Mehta didn't want to bribe him but that was his last way. He made mistakes, now he wanted to make up for it. He just wanted a chance, he was desperate for his last chance, by hook or by crook.

Raunak froze at the moment. He was speechless, "I'm sorry. I can't take blames from my late brother for betraying Anand. And I don't need your help. I'm just trying to rescue that businesses only because of my nephew and also it's after my mom's name. If it's gone, then let it go. I don't care. I am capable enough to give Ragini a comfortable life. I don't want to be harsh but of you want forgiveness, just straight to go Anand. Talk to him. That's all I can suggest."

Raunak was bored by the incidents. Life was really unpredictable. Nothing ever happened according our wishes. He looked at the file of the house Rajiv wanted to build for them, for the family. Sanjana even planned for the interiors. A faint smile tugged on his lips remembering that dream. It could only remain as a dream. He noticed some words were written at the last page. It was Rajiv's habit to write some lines from literatures when it cane to it mind. It was written, "Pain is momentary, only oblivion is universal."

So true. They will forget the pain of Rajiv's death one day. No matter how hurting that was, they would learn to live with it, gradually it would become their lifestyle.

Suddenly he recieved a call from Manav to drag him out of his thoughts. The moment he received it, he face darkened.

.

.

"We can't wait for her to turn 18. if the company doesn't have any proper leader now, it will destroy till she grows up." a person said.

Raunak couldn't protest that. He was right. But that didn't mean they were about to divide Rajiv's shares among themselves.

"Yes, we will give her a share of her dad's business but for now we can't take risks. Even Mrs. Dutt is also dead who could talk on behalf of him. As I know there's no one in his family." another person said.

Actually they never knew Rajiv's personal life and at that moment it was hard to explain. Their mom was no more, Rathindra Sen was in jail, Rajiv and Sanjana was dead. It was not convenient to speak about old things. They would think he was creating stories. About Raunak they only knew, Rajiv was on good terms with him and that's the reason he could enter the meeting room.

"What if Ragini got adopted and her parents want to take over it?" Raunak asked in a low voice.

"If anyone is planning to do that for his personal or professional benefits, then we won't agree." That person completely pointed towards Raunak and he knew it.

"And you won't give it to someone who doesn't know anything about it either. You have your answers ready." He laughed a little. They were not wrong from their place. It's just no one expected that to happen.

"May we ask you now why are you here?" At last another one ask.

"Let me give you the answer." It was deep who said from behind. The way he was panting clearly showed he ran all the way to come here. However, Raunak wasn't expecting him to see here.

Deep gave an assuring nod towards Raunak and said, "Mmm...I'm going to adopt Ragini dutt. It's her choice to become dutt, Sen or Roy when she will grow up. but for the time being I will adopt and raise her. So as for Dutt Businesses, I will take care of it."

His words almost created a chaos in the meeting room. The person asked Raunak about his intention suddenly asked him too, "What's your relationship with him? And you are a ruthless businessman, why should we believe you?"

"if I'm a businessman, the same goes to you. You are also not trustworthy like me. Tell me what's your connection with Rajiv Dutt. At least I will adopt Ragini." He then looked at Raunak once. Then with a sigh, he said, "Moreover I can never be a dad. She's the only heir I will ever have. So there's no chance anyone can snatch the business from her."

Deep knew it, that's the only thing that can make them shut their mouth. Moreover her already started legal procedures and came here after that. Though he was not a good person, he had ethics in business. But he didn't believe those shareholders sitting here.

"Think about it. If it's not solved here, I can go to the court." Deep guestered at Raunak to get out of there. Their business relations ended long ago and they again turned into rivals. But seeing them getting along like this was really eye catching. Everyone was looking at them with confusion. When Raunak came out with Deep, he asked curiously, "How did you manage Dadu?"

"I didn't! Drishti did and God knows how." Deep sighed. She didn't even tell him how.

Raunak felt a little confused by the whole situation. But he was happy, at least Deep would take care of Ragini more than anything. Maybe he could take Ragini's adoption, he didn't know why he didn't feel it right. If he wanted to imagine Ragini, he could imagine her only with Mitali. And this time, he would listen to his mind....
