The Begger

"Why would I do that?" Barry asked boldly, giving a half extended shrug. "Why would I sign papers I don't know nothing about?"

A grin emmited from Duncan, "you're signing away Club Boulevard, along with all your subsidiary companies. I will now own each and everyone of them."

When Barry heard that, he cackled loudly, his abdomen bending and holding his chest with his right arm, with the left still in his pocket.

A seething Duncan cocked his gun, and aimed at Barry's leg but before he could pull the trigger, he heard a gun cock right behind his ear as the cold barrel began sinking against his neck.

"Put it down," said Brian Hayes.

Shrugging, Barry returned a wry cunning smile.

"Shit!" Duncan cursed, his voice barely audible. 'This can't be happening.'

Duncan lowered the gun, trembling all over his body. "We can talk about this," he said, his voice cracking with fear.

Barry pulled the wooden chair over so it faced him and sat on it while staring a hole through Duncan.
