A lady in her mid twenties came out from the trial room wearing a black pencil pant and a black blazer with a pure white shirt inside. She was tall with brown eyes and her little thick brows were giving a serious look to her. Her heart face shape had wide forehead and cheekbones. She had dark chestnut brown hair which reached to her shoulder level yet bunned it a professional way. The lady gave her black robe to the girl in her early twenties and walked to an old couple with a smile.

-” We won. Aren't you happy grandpa..? “

The smile on her face was warm and kind as everyone wanted to adore that smile. She looked so innocent and cute with that smile unlike her earlier serious look.The old man took her hand in his and kissed it gently..

-” Thank you Mrs. Braxton. If it was not for you we would have lost our son. I'm grateful to you. “

-” Oh it's nothing grandpa. I have done what I was supposed to do. “ The lady again smiled.

-” Still we want to thank you Ms. Attorney. “ This time the old woman said.

-'' And please give us some time to pay your fees. We will definitely pay you back. “ the old man said, being a little embarrassed.

-” You have already paid the fees for my law firm. And about mine, let it be. I only need your blessing. “

saying the lady walked to her Ferrari followed by the same young girl. She is Janet… Janet Dylan Braxton. One of the top notch criminal lawyers in C country. Is that the only identity she has… ? Well let's see.

Janet was trying to call someone but her face showed a kind of disappointment. When Janet reached near the car there was one man with a heavy build body waiting for them patiently. He opened the car door for Janet who got inside only after giving a thankful smile to the man.

As Janet settled in the car she looked at the girl sitting beside her.

-” Did you note the important points..? “ Janet asked while knitting her brows.

-” Yes sister. I have. “ Grace pouted her lips like a child.

-” Stop doing that Grace. You are not a kid anymore. “ Janet shook her head in failure.

-” But you said I'm your sister. Isn't it..? “ Grace smiled from ear to ear to get a favor from Janet who rolled her eyes at the drama.

When looked at in a professional way, Grace was the assistant of Janet. Janet liked her very much because she is dedicated and hardworking. But personally Janet took Grace as her sister. But it doesn't mean that Janet will favor her. Janet always prefers professionalism over personal interest and Grace is hired as her PA after passing the interviews and tests done by her law firm.

Janet looked at Grace as she couldn't hear any voice from her and found she was sleeping while leaning to the seat. Janet didn't wake her as she might have been tired after a sleepless night on the last day because of the preparations. Janet Smiled at her childishness when her phone showed a message notification. She read the message and a smile with different emotions appeared on her face. She also closed her eyes to take some rest…

-” Ma'am, we are here. “ The driver com bodyguard said politely.

-” Oh sorry. I was asleep. You can drop her in her home. I have some work to do. “

-” Sure ma'am. “

Mark, the driver replied and opened the door for Janet for which Janet shook her head.

-” It's my duty ma'am. Even if you say you don't want me to do it I can't help it. “

-” And it's the only thing I, the top notch lawyer, fails at. “ Janet said more like a complaint and walked inside the building.

Mark was looking at Janet till she disappeared inside the building. He looked up to see the building. It was White& case law firms. One of the best law firms in the country and she was the most demanded criminal lawyer in this firm. She had everything but always behaved kindly with others which was the reason Mark respected the most.

While Janet knocked on the door of the senior lawyer, more specifically founder of White& case. Soon she heard a voice asking her to come from inside…

-” Good evening Mr. White. “

Janet greeted the man who was sitting in a chair who was facing his back. But soon the chair rotated in ninety degrees and seeing the man Janet rolled her eyes and sat on the chair opposite.

-” What are you doing here..? Where is Mr. White.? “

-” Hello madam, I'm also a White. For your kind information senior White is my dad. “

-” As if I don't know. “ Janet said with a smirk at her friend.

Adam White, one of the best business lawyers in C country. Well you can only find the best in White& case firms because the requirements and benchmark level is so high in this firm. So it's the dream law firm of every lawyer and aspirant. Back to Adam.

He is one of Janet's friends from her college and his dad owns the law firm. He is tall and handsome with a black eyes and short hair.

-” Oh.. Bye the way, congratulations for your new victory. “ Adam gave a thumbs up to Janet.

-” Thank you. By the way, I came to ask for leave for tomorrow. “ Janet recalled why she came to the office.

-” Is there any emergency.? “

-” Nothing. I need to take some rest. Today I have to attend an award ceremony with Dylan. So it won't be possible for me to rest today. “

-” Are you okay..? I mean you never said you are tired.” Adam grabbed her hands to check her Pulse.

-” Don't act like you are a doctor. “ Janet retrieved her hands with a smile.

-``It's just an act, You know. Well you can take a leave. Dad is out of the city for a case so I'm in charge. “

-” Janet, are you really okay..? “ Adam again asked in doubt.

-” Yes.. I am.. “ Janet got up from the chair and bid goodbye to Adam.

Mark was already waiting for her. So she directly got inside the car and instructed..

-” To Hunter corporation. “ And then closed her eyes.

Janet opened her eyes, sensing the car was no longer moving. She got down from the car and looked at the twenty storied building with a smile. The smile contained many emotions which only she knew.

Janet was walking to the elevator when many of the employees greeted her with a smile.

-” Good evening ma'am. “

-'' Yeah.. Good evening.” Janet replied with the same smile.

She took a public elevator along with other employees but they were not surprised by her acts as if they are used to it. Janet was standing silently when a girl asked..

-” Ma'am, are you coming from the court.? “

-” Sadly yes. You people always saw me in these formals. So you must get bored. Isn't it..? “ Janet asked with a teasing.

-” Of course not ma'am. Even if you visit here in your formals your charm and energy is really a booster for us. “ The grid replied honestly.

The girl was wondering How they can get bored of such beautiful yet kind hearted women. She was admiring Janet secretly when Janet asked…

-” Isn't the office time over..? Why are you all still here..? “

-” We have an important deal to crack tomorrow. So everyone is busy with it. We have to work overtime today. “

-” Did you all have anything..? “

-” No.. But the Boss had already arranged a grand dinner for us after working hours. “

-” Good… “ Janet was relieved.

-” Bye ma'am. I need to go. “ The girl said and stepped out of the elevator.

Janet waited for the elevator to reach the top level. She walked inside a cabin which belonged to the chairman which was empty. Janet settled herself in the chair which belonged to the chairman with a smirk. Her eyes were fixed on the wall as if she was thinking something..

In a conference room, many people were sitting around a table and watching the presentation silently while some were peeping towards a young man in his mid twenties from time to time. He was looking at the screen attentively with his blue eyes. There was no trace of warmth or kindness in his face. He was looking so serious as if someone owed something to him. He was tracing his stubble beard from time to time as if he was trying to control his rage. His short beard was a perfect match for his square shaped face.

He was Daylan Braxton. The founder and chairman of Hunter group. He named it as a memory of his late grandfather whom he loved the most.

As the presentation completed everyone looked at their chairman for approval. Dylan was not at all pleased by the presentation and it was evident in his eyes.

-” Do you think this presentation is gonna capture our clients attention..? Redo it.. These are the areas you need to change. “ Dylan gave a piece of paper to the man who did the presentation.

-” Yes sir.. “ the man hurriedly replied.

It's not like their CEO is a silent and peace loving person. He can be a real devil like he looked. But still they will confidently say he cares for his employees very much. Dylan always maintained a perfect balance between his devil, arrogant side and his kindness. But he never showed his Kindness to them openly.But still everyone in the office respected him and loved him. No one ever dared to mess with him. Mainly there are two reasons for it.

First one, if you mess with him he is not gonna spare you and secondly he has a gem with him who can protect him. They can't afford to offend the successful young business man and the top notch lawyer. Maybe she was the only person who can tame their chairman and bring a smile to his face.

As the meeting ended Dylan stood up. He was tall compared to the average height with a well fit body and a broad chest. Dylan walked to his office while checking his phone. He couldn't find any message or call from Janet. But the moment he got Inside his office he saw a figure on his chair leaning her head to the table.

-'' Luise, you can go out. “ Dylan said to his assistant and walked to Janet.

-” Did you wait for a long… ? “ Dylan asked while stroking her head.

He leaned his head down to check Janet as he couldn't find any response from her. But the very next moment an adoring smile appeared on his face watching Janet sleeping with her mouth a little opened. His smile was so captivating unlike his serious face.

-'' Sleepyhead. “

Dylan whispered and scooped her in his arms and settled her in the bed he arranged inside his office. Sometimes he used to sleep in the office itself.

Dylan took Janet's hands in his and looked at the wedding ring in her finger. It was a very small diamond ring which was not expensive on the contrary to the wealth they possessed.

They married each other four years ago when they were nothing but two freshmen who had graduated from a top university. He only had some bank balance in his name which was left by his grandpa.

-” Jane, I’m sorry I couldn't give you a grand wedding. I couldn't give you an expensive wedding ring but trust me one day I will earn everything for you and I will make you my queen. Will you marry me..? “ Dylan went into his knees and forwards a small diamond ring to Janet who was crying like a rain.

-” Yes.. I.. Do… I don't want any expensive ring nor I want any luxurious life. I just want you to be with me Lan. ( short form of Dylan)...

I can be your queen only with your love and care. Promise me that you will always love me like this. Promise me you won't leave me. “

-” I promise my queen. I will always love you and will cherish you. I love you jane. “

-” I Love you too, Lan .. “ Janet gave her hands so that Dylan could put the ring on her fingers.

Dyaln put the ring in her fingers with a wide grin and hugged Janet tightly.

-'' Tomorrow we're gonna get married. Are you excited… ? “ Asked Janet beaming in happiness.

-” Yes.. But I'm a little sad too. Because it's just a court wedding. I can't even give you a proper marriage like every girl wishes. “

-” I'm not like every girl. I'm Janet Ezekiel. Don't forget that Mr. Braxton. “ Janet pouted her lips.

A smile appeared on Daylan’s face in the memory of how he proposed to her. He started the Hunter corporation from scratch but now it's one of the top listed companies in C country with various business ventures nationally and internationally. They had everything still she never asked him for an expensive wedding ring.

-” Jane, let's change the ring. We will buy a good one. “

-” Why..? Is there any problem with this ring… ? This is my wedding ring you gifted me. I don't want to change it. “ Janet. This was her reply whenever he asked to change the wedding ring.

Dylan gently pressed his lips on her forehead when he heard a knock on the door. Dylan got up from the bed and walked back to his office after adjusting his blazer.
