Sacrifices have to be made

A few moons later while laying on my dais among furs, appreciating the moon rays. I became occupied with my thoughts. The parasitic—human side seemed a bit more agitated than normal. The feeling as though I had forgotten a part that had formerly been essential to me bothered me.

The Black wolf raised his head and yawned; the breath seemingly familiar. Before I could speculate more, one of the blue wolves subconsciously tugged me towards him, because when I looked at him, his breathing was even, his eyes closed. I wanted to stiffen, but this seemed familiar. ‘Our memory was taken.’

The human side spoke from within our inner domain. ‘Taken? Why?’ I asked, knowing she would have an idea unlike me who was clueless before.

‘Because we were not careful enough!’ she snapped.

I looked up at the moon high in the sky. There is only one in this main realm, while our own had several. Sometimes three, but mostly two.
