Koala
I tried really hard to stop my body from trembling but no matter how hard I tried, it just got worse. Her face, it just kept coming back to me, my body itches with the need to change back to myself but I couldn't afford to. A moment of weakness could be what did me in. But her face wouldn't stop coming back, The Hikrata looked exactly like my mother, same hair, same slender figure, but different colour of eyes, the eyes were the only difference.
Why would she look like my mother? Why the hell would they have the same face? Had I seen wrong?, Was I mistaken?, But there was no way I had seen wrong, there was just no way.
The opening of the door distracted me for a moment and I almost hissed when I saw who opened it.
"Octavian dear, have you eaten?"
I sighed deep within, "no mom, I'll eat later."
"But you never eat this late, you eat dinner at six."
Oh my God what was this woman's problem?, Why did she put her mouth in everything.
"I didn't feel like eating."
"You know, you've been acting weird lately."
"I've been busy with finding leads about the Hikrata."
She nodded like she understood, "Poor girl, living all her life in fear that someone is going to come for her."
Fear?, Why would a Hikrata be living in fear?
"What do you mean?."
"Oh, Jerome didn't tell you?, She's been living in a cottage apart from the rest of the world all her life, even for the few days she's been here she's had a panick attack like twice now, she keeps saying 'he's coming, he's coming for me, I'm his weapon', you know, that kind of shit."
I didn't know at all, why would she be afraid of a man?, who knew the Hikrata was here and was coming for her?, Why would the Hikrata live her life apart from the world?, Why would she look exactly like my mom?. There was more to this story, and I was going to find out what.
Las Vegas……
Valeria Hortensius
I came back to my seat after conversing with Diego only to find Andrea in Octavian's lap. I narrowed my eyes and Andrea smiled at me, but I noticed a hint of sadness.
"Apparently Mr New York is Gay."
The laugh came out before I could stop it, Andrea scowled at me and then smacked Octavian for laughing along.
"Why are all the handsome ones always gay?, Why aren't you just bisexual, you know, so you can have two choices." I could tell Andrea was drunk already with the way she was talking.
"Why don't I call Diego so we can go home together." I said.
Andrea pouted, "but Diego won't let Mr New York come home with us," she squinted at Octavian and gasped. "What is a Gay man doing in this club?"
"Well….you girls don't happen to know Valeria Hortensius do you?"
My breath caught, "why, what do you want with her?." Andrea asked, eyes narrowing.
"I have information I really think her father would like to hear."
"So you have an informant who told you she was going to be here?." Andrea asked, her tone suddenly hard. Either Octavian didn't notice or he choose to ignore it.
"No, I knew she was going to be here, and trust me her father would really like to know about it."
"Why, why do you think he'd be interested in what you have to say?." I finally found my voice.
"It's about his late wife." Octavian answered with a smile. Andrea got off his lap and went to seat beside me.
The way he smiled let me know he knew exactly who he was talking to.
"We are leaving now Andrea, Diego is going to take him to my father." I stood up and headed for the exit. I knew I didn't need to tell Diego anything because I knew he'd been listening to us through the wire.
Andrea ran after me, "I'm sorry for inviting him over."
"It's not your fault, he would have found a way to talk to me if you invited him or not."
Diego caught up to me as I was entering the car. "I've told your dad and he's going to see him in his study."
I nodded. "I'm going to be there Diego, whether my father likes it or not, it's about my mother Diego, I'd like to hear whatever he has to say also, you understand right?"
Diego nodded before sighing.
