A little talk about the other side

Jerome

Arriving in josh's room I stopped and knocked.

Josh opened his door, wearing only his trouser which had falling down showing almost all his V shape.

"Call everyone downstairs." I didn't give him a chance to talk or ask me questions as i turned and left.

It took ten minutes for everyone to come down excluding Danica. Even the thought of her name hurt me.

"We have to get some things straight, I want to some answers and I'll be getting them." I faced Jerome's mate who stiffened when he caught my stare. "I want to know why you were pretending to be Octavian in the first place. And I want a straight answer."

"Well, when Octavian came looking for me, he told me about Danica, it felt like a gift from the gods, so I took it. I mean, my master had been looking for her for so many years and someone just appeared put of nowhere with a lead, so I disposed of him and came rushing to California."

"By disposing, you mean killed?"

He looked away before answering. "Well I thought I killed him, but his still alive apparently."

"So what were you coming to do to Danica."

He turned his head back to stare at me before evading my eyes again, for a moment he looked pained, then he looked at Vincent who was also waiting for an answer, I guessed he hadn't told Vincent anything because I was very sure Vincent would have told me.

He glanced away looking resigned, then sighed out loud. "I came to kill her."

I didn't know who was more shocked, me or Vincent.

I had a killer under my nose, living in my house the whole time and I had no idea.

"But," he said moving away from Vincent and taking a fighting stance. "I don't want to kill her again, she's my sister, I can't kill family."

He said it like that made him appear innocent.

"I didn't even want to kill her again when I saw her."

"Why?" I asked, grateful I was in control of my wolf and not charging to kill him before hearing the truth in his voice, I mean he could have killed her all this time and didn't.

"She looked like my mother."

He answered, looking at me like I was stupid not to realize why he didn't want to kill her again.

"Alpha." Called Octavian. I looked at him and saw that he was pouting. I sighed, knowing if Octavian had that look on his that meant he wanted permission to ask questions.

I waved, giving him a go-ahead.

"If you were kidnapped at infant, how did you know she looked like your mother."

"Well, " he looked at Octavian like he was stupid. "Knox showed me her pictures."

"And you didn't try to find her."

"Why would I, she gave me up, she choosed Danica over me." He spat.

"No she didn't." We all looked up at Danica who at the first step to the floor staring at us with a pained expression.

"She knew you'd be safer with Knox."

"And how the hell did you know that."

"When you were kidnapped by Thanos." Danica visibly shuddered when she said the name. "She didn't know how to get you back, after they succeeded in changing you, after you got hold of your beast and they couldn't control you anymore, Thanos saw you as a disadvantage, when mother found out about you , that you were still alive after so many years, she went back to her father for you, Knox followed her and right when she was about to go, she saw me, the child she had thought dead. She gave you to Knox for safe keeping when Thanos caught up to us, but she understood I was more of a disadvantage, if Thanos got you back, he would have found a way to kill you and if you were with Knox he wouldn't be pushed to go after you and suffer losses because jerome had power on his side, you weren't useful anymore so you weren't worth the hassle. But I on the other hand, was still very useful." She came down from the stairs.

Her eyes looked puffy, and when our eyes met she glanced away immediately.

"She didn't want any harm to come to Knox or you, but if I remained with you, Thanos would have found every way to get us back, but if we were separated then she was absolutely sure he would come for only me."

"But he caught up with you." He asked. "He caught up."

"Yes, we were betrayed by someone my mother thought she could trust." Danica closed her eyes and I knew she was reliving the memory.

I faced their father who looked seconds away from bursting into tears with the way he was looking and clutching on to Danica's twin sister. You could see the recognition, but still they had different features.

"The pack isn't safe for now," I made sure to catch the eyes of Octavian's mate and Danica's elder sister and their father as I talked. "I won't be responsible for the safety of someone that's not part of my pack."

The woman standing beside Danica's elder sister moved forward, "Koala and Tara are part of my coven," she started. "I free Koala of his obligations to me and my coven, I relieve him of his oath to the coven." Koala appeared stunned, even Tara looked surprised.

"I'm not heartless," she gave them a pointed stare. " But I'm not releasing Tara."

Why would she use the word 'coven' she didn't look like a vampire, as a matter of fact she didn't have any scent.

Koala looked at Vincent and they seemed to communicate using their eyes.

I was jealous. Their relationship was progressing while mine was regressing. The looked so happy it hurt my eyes to stare. They had claimed their self without any problem while mine was full of problems.
