Somewhere in California
Aliyah Mujahideen walked into the office, her stiletto landing with a loud thud with every step she took, she licked her lips, tasting the tangy flavor of the lime she had ago. Her long strapped gown flowed with her as she took a seat and faves the man who controlled her life. He looked young, maybe in his twenties, somewhere between twenty four and twenty eight, his platinum blonde hair was styled backwards so the shape of his oblong face was clear, his eyebrows twitched when she sighed and his forever pouted pink lips was curled sideways in a smirk, his lean, smooth body was in a suit, which looked expensive. but she knew better, monsters had pretty face, and thus pretty face was the worst monster a person could come by.
"You look lovely today, Aliyah."
"I always look lovely." She answered back with a sigh.
"Tell me now, my sweet child.....what good news do you have for me?
Aliya hesitated, she had no good news, what she had was bad, and she was scared of how he would react, was he going to kill her like he killed the others? Was he going to spare her life and instead make her a living dead?
"I am waiting Aliya." He sounded just on the verge of anger now, so Aliya thought of the best way to put down the words without coming off as bad news.
"Alicia is dead, someone disposed of her before I could do it, so she's no longer a threat, but the grimoire wasn't with her when she died and before I could take it someone else searched her room, it's now with the Alp.... Uungh!" His sudden movement and the death grip he had on her neck left her light headed.
She struggled to breath as he tightened his hold her neck, "The grimour is not something of child's play, did you know what I had to do to get it?"
"Ungh, hmph."
"You will need to get it back, you have twenty four hours."
She gasped, her back arching in pain as she was suddenly thrown across the room.
"Twenty four hours Aliya, I won't condone another disappointment."

Danica
I paced the living room, eyeing Jerome, who had frustrated look on his face, who could it be, who could have done it.
"I don't understand," Octavian started, "the scent you found —no one in the pack has the scent?"
"Yes." I answered, also frustrated. "I don't even think it's a shifter, it smelled like human."
"Are you sure?"
"Don't question my potency Octavian, I wouldn't be saying it if I wasn't sure."
"I apologize Alpha mate." He bared his neck.
I flinched in surprise, no one had ever submitted in that way to me before, must be the honor of being the alpha mate, so far I was loving it, my happiness deemed when I remembered my and Jerome's conversation five days ago.
"But how can a human kill a shifter and then carry her up a tree, I mean, we could say she used a bullet to kill her, but there are no bullet wounds, we could also say silver was used to weaken her, but there was no silver in her blood." Josh said.
Something suddenly occurred to me and I smiled, my smile must have looked feral because they stopped talking to concentrate on me. "A witch is also human, and I did smell magic and you did say you found a grimoire in her backpack, Alicia might not have been the owner."
Josh gasped, "Maybe she stole it and the owner killed her in spite."
I chuckled, "no, that's not it, we could also say she was killed by the very thing that attacked her in the first place, maybe it was a summoning gone wrong, maybe she had a witch with her and when she died, in order not to be found, the witch abandoned her there, probably thought if she wasn't in the ground no one would think to look up."
"You could be right." Octavian agreed, "but why summon a mythical creature? It could also have been that Amelia knew who was summoning, and when she threatens to expose them, the person dispose of her, if she had been dead for three days before we found then she couldn't have been the one to glamour herself to look like Jerome when Hailey was coming to tell him what she remembered."
"So now we know someone else is in on it, someone else in the pack is a traitor."
"Jerome," Vincent asked. "Are you sure you don't have anything that belongs to anybody?"
"I'm sure, I mean I would know if I had something that belonged to someone else wouldn't I?"
"Yeah, I've also been thinking about it, what does he want?."
Back in the room I paced waiting for Jerome to finish with his enforcers. The moment he entered and locked the door.
I attacked him.
