Half Blood

Danica

"They've been kidnapped, how do we get them back without giving them the grimoire?" Vincent questioned Jerome.

"I don't know, we have no idea where they are holding them captive." Jerome replied.

"We found injections filled with silver." Pete said yawing.

"And there's no scent, it's like the scent was blocked." Koala husked.

"What do you think Amelia was going to use the grimoire for? Could they have been blackmailing her and now that she's dead they want the grimoire back?"

"Maybe," Vincent agreed. "But then who killed her?"

"Yeah, who is the person pretending to be Jerome? It just keeps getting confusing." Brad added.

"It remains four hours to their deadline, what are we going to do?" Pete said.

"We give them the grimoire." Jerome said.

"What!" They chuckled thinking Jerome was kidding.

"I mean it, we give them the grimoire, Josh was studying it and he already made a copy of it." Jerome explained.

"But if we give it to them won't they use it to attack us?" Vincent asked.

"I don't think they'll do that, I think maybe Alicia was the one doing it, and the witch Danica scented was the one helping her, maybe the witch was the one pretending to be me."

"Maybe." Vincent appraised. "But what reason did Alicia have to do all this? Why would she risk herself being one of the victim?"

"That's what I don't understand?" Jerome stated.

"Hailey's injuries was the most critical among them from what you told mean, the girl before Hailey only had a bite mark on her neck same as Alicia, and both were saying the same thing 'he's coming, he's coming, he'll take what belongs to him."

I frowned when something suddenly occurred to me.

Everytime I had a panic attack one sentence just kept repeating itself in my head. "He's coming, he's coming for me, he'll take me." But when I thought about it, what really started it? what started the mantra?.

"Tell me, when Hailey was bitten, did she start shouting the same thing?" I asked.

"No, we met her like that." Pete answered.

"So the only ones who shouted were the other two and their bite marks were the same."

"What are you trying to say?" Asked Jerome.

"So you guys know any psychiatrist?"

"Why, what do you need a psychiatrist for?"

"Well I was thinking, could they maybe have been compelled to scream like that to throw us off?"

"Okay," Jerome agreed "but what do need a psychiatrist for?."

"We can use a psychiatrist to get them to remember, you know, maybe they can remember what they saw or heard or who they saw."

"That's actually a great idea, if Hailey can remember a little bit then it means she can remember more." Vincent said.

"But we don't have any psychiatrist in the pack, and going to a human is not exactly safe." Jerome said.

I grinned. "Don't worry about it, he won't even remember doing it."

"Okay so we give them the grimoire and get Octavian and Josh back, and then get a psychiatrist." Pete muttered.

********

The man grunted as his master's face appeared on the screen, his master was in bed with three whores who were asleep beside him.

"What news do you have?"

"Your plan is going accordingly," the man began, "the Hikrata has her focus elsewhere."

"Perfect," his master smiled beaming. "Now it's on to the next phase, did you get my grimoire back?"

" I'm working on it, employee seven is retrieving it as we speak." The man answered.

"What say you spice it up a little bit, maybe attempt to kidnap the Beta, that should keep them on their toes."

"As you wish, master."

"And please, help me say hello to my granddaughter with immediate effect, I have a feeling she misses me." Master chuckled.

"It will be done immediately." The man coughed slightly and disconnected the video call.

People saw the man as the monster, he was truly, but people tend to forget, he learnt from the monster itself.

Diana Hortensius

It tended to get bloody when there was no establishment or someone to obey.

And this, was what bloody entailed.

Diana watched the coven leaders all decide their fate—not hers— as they argued amongst themselves.

"She isn't old enough."they said.

"We should split the coven amongst themselves." Some shouted.

She watched them warily, calculating, waiting for the right moment to strike, for them to make a mistake.

"She's not strong enough!" And then Diana attacked.

Twisting the offenders neck before he could make a noise. And like that, he was dead.

The table was quiet, everyone silenced in shock. Diana stood up from her seat giving them a leveled look in the process, daring them to make move, to utter a word.

"You've all put down your thoughts, I sat and listened, my father thought me a lot of things before his demise, I agree, I am young, but I'm not stupid, and I won't stand anyone insulting me.

"You all want a piece of my inheritance, am I right?." She asked. None uttered a word.

"Why don't you fight me for it."

"It will be a waste to fight a chil.." the snap that followed made everyone uncomfortable in their seats. The man that had talked was dead, his neck snapped, like his other.

"Anyone want to add anything?"

"I've always liked your father Diana." Mrs Elliott began, "he would be proud of the woman you are today."

Diana dipped her head, "Thank you, I'm sure he is, wherever he may be."

"Don't let this vultures take your inheritance from you," Mrs Elliott narrowed her eyes at the look of betrayal the others threw at her.

"But, don't you want to find out who murdered your father?"

"As a matter of fact I do, but that's not important right now, what's important is that I make a point to the said vultures who want to take over my coven."

"We can't let a half blood take control, this is outrageous."

Danica faced Mr Sirus, "the only reason you're not dead right now is because I respect my elders, I might be halfblood, but I'm also half shifter, none of you are as strong as me."

"Or do I need to prove it?"
