Possession

Danica

People say the mouth, especially the tongue is the sweetest organ, and why do they say it?

Because of the words that come out of it.

You could either destroy or make a person's life with your words.

So imagine my surprise when Hailey came running down the stairs her eyes wide and dilated, looking drugged and high. but that wasn't the most confusing part. What was confusing was the colour of her eyes. They were silver—or white even. We all watched her, entranced as she finished stepping down and stopped Infront of me.

I sighed, knowing if anything was to happen, it wasn't going to be good, but what I didn't expect was the next words that came out of her mouth.

"There's a storm coming my dear Hikrata, my dreams are almost complete."

I could tell everyone was spooked because the voice coming out of Hailey wasn't her's, it was that of a man. The voice sounded so familiar I had the sudden urge to run.

"You've grown so much my dear, if only things were different." As she spoke, her hands lifted from where they were fisted at her sides to gently trace across my cheek.

I shivered in sudden revulsion but couldn't find the strength to move, it was like I was stuck to the floor, I could feel my self trembling with the need to just move, my body refused to cooperate with me, I couldn't look away from Hailey, I couldn't blink.

"But it's fate, and it works in wondrous ways" she suddenly beamed, her eyes that was dark and gloomy suddenly alight with joy.

"Just wait a little more, just a little more." Her right hand trailed down to my stomach and she palmed it.

"Just wait a little more." She repeated. She backed away slowly, her eyes trailing over my body, eyes that were slowly melting back to their natural color.

"Let me be the first to say this," She grinned, "Congratulations on being pregnant."

The silver completely left her eyes and she fainted.

"Holy shit!." Vincent whispered, looking completely stunned.

Jerome just stood there staring at me with wide eyes and a look of betrayal.

I was completely weak to the brain so it took a couple of seconds to let the words Hailey said sink in.

I stumbled back, my feet suddenly so weak I wondered how I was still standing.

Jesus no, no fucking way, I refuse to believe it, no fucking way! I can't be pregnant, I couldn't be pregnant.

We only did it once, I had not even claimed him at that time.

My mind was playing a game with me.

No! It was another mind game.

But the look on Jerome's face said it all, wonder, happiness, sadness, anger betrayal, was what I saw on his face . It was hard to decide what he was really feeling.

My right hand trembled as I slowly moved it to touch my stomach.

Wouldn't I know if I was pregnant? Wouldn't my scent have changed, like all pregnant shifters did, my pack mates would have been the first to know, you couldn't hide a pregnancy if you were a shifter, every shifter knew the scent of a pregnant one.

"It's not possible." I whispered, refusing to believe it.

"That was Knox." Koala said, suddenly, his voice a little low.

"That was my master's voice." He said the words like he wasn't so sure himself. "He's dead, how can that be him?" He whispered to himself, his hand trembling.
