Jerome sat, glaring at the picture on his table and at the same time frowning over the letter also on his table..
"You should tell her." Vincent said, his voice pained and unsure.
"I can't." Jerome shook his head, "If I do, I'll just be giving her another reason to run away from me."
"But it's her mother, she should know what her mum is going through, she should know about the letter."
"She can't." Jerome said, a crack in his voice, "she's pregnant, I don't want to put her into anymore pain."
"You know if she finds out later she won't care about the fact that you kept it hidden for her health?"
"I know, but at least I hope this whole thing would be over before she does."
"And if they really mean what's in the letter?"
"Then I'll be ready." Jerome said, his tone flat and final.

Danica
I scratched my fingers, scratched my neck then finally my arm, but still it felt like the itch ran to another part of my body each time I scratched it.
I groaned when I felt the now familiar itch on my face.
I was pretty sure every part of my body was now red with scratches from my fingernails.
I went down the stairs now scratching my sides.
"I'm pretty sure you can't have been bitten by a mosquito, so what's with the scratching?"
Valeria said looking through a notebook as I reached the last step.
" I don't know, it started when I woke up, is like I'm having a reaction to something." I answered taking a seat beside her.
"Maybe." She shrugged, "how do you feel, is your tongue also itching you?"
I rolled my eyes. "Since when are you a doctor?"
"I'm just asking, it could be an allergic reaction to something, you can never be to careful."
"I'm pretty sure I'm not allergic to anything." I said now scratching my legs.
"What's wrong with you?" I glanced up to look at Jerome who came out of of his office with Vincent behind him.
I sighed as he held my head and pulled my head back to kiss me.
It was like the itch disappeared.
He moved back from me his hand dropping to his side and immediately the itch returned.
I started scratching my neck again.
"I'm feeling so itchy." I told Jerome, now scratching my stomach.
"Are you having a reaction, is your tongue itchy?"
"Ha!" Valeria, grinned, "I asked her the same thing and she just snapped at me."
I glared at Valeria then turned to glare at Jerome, "no, my tongue is not feeling itchy, and no I don't think it's a reaction, and it feels like it's getting worse." I snapped, furiously scratching my chest.
"It's getting worse?"
"That's what I just said." I said feeling irritated.
Vincent cackled and the glare I have him made him cough to cover his laugh.
"I will smite you were you stand if you don't find a cure for my ailment right now."
"I don't know the cause so how can I know the cure."
"Oh Jesus, someone help me scratch, it's getting worse."
"Are you sure you should be scratching, if the scratching just makes it worse?"
"Or maybe it's the scratching delaying it from getting any worse while you people chat about me scratching without going to find a cure to stop the itch!" I yelled.
"Oh it's started?" We turned to look at koala as he came down from the stairs and went to stand near Vincent.
"What do you mean it's started?"
"Well it's a normal reaction for a Hikrata to feel when pregnant, your skin feels starved of Jerome's touch that's why you're feeling itchy."
Oh fuck, that's why the itch disappeared when Jerome touched me.
Jerome quickly stepped forward and cupped my face.
The deep sigh that came out of me made Jerome chuckle but I ignored him. Oh God, his touch felt great.
"How long is he supposed to touch me for?"
"It's not about how long, it's about how often."
"How do you know this?"
Koala shrugged. "I just know things."
