Chapter 62

Zyair Pov

“.....the true alpha of the moonlight pack, my youngest brother. Zyair Wren. I’m sorry.” Sean bowed. I didn’t know he would surrender so quickly. He would always put up a fight to the very last, so I didn’t know what to do even when he thrust his claws into his chest after he shifted again. I just stare at the moon.

My heart sunk.

Something must have been wrong with them for him to just give up like that.

Then I remembered the curse.

The wolves were dying. Everyone and nothing could be done to stop it. I stared at the remaining wolves whose head was still down. Some were shaky, some old. But the strength was there. The other time I looked, it was just Amaia, Creamy, and Franco and a few other salmon wolves standing and about a thousand moonlight packs. Now, with my eyes on her, I saw how she had killed most of the wolves who’d got closer to her, even without touching them, their strength she was abstracting. Her speed in which she runs, her eyes. In that hoodie, I’d thought she was someone else. Someone I didn’t know.

Amaia killed them. More than a thousand moonlight pack wolves, the dead ones were more than the ones living. Creamy and Franco practically stop fighting when they saw her fight the wolves and had to stay off her part. They had to save themselves too because they didn’t know who she was at that moment.

I didn’t know when I moved my feet backward when she tried to reach out to me. I’d taken a step back away from her.

She made Sean kill himself. I saw her eyes on him. I didn’t know how she did it but I was certain it was her.

“Don’t come closer..” I warned.

“You said you would recognize me, even in my worst form.”

“I don’t know anything.”

I took another step backward.

“Don’t come.”

I couldn’t see her eyes, she’d them hidden. I looked away from her and walked to meet Sean and have his eyes shut.

When I turned, she was gone.

I tightened my fist together.

“Take him away..”

I said and fell to my knees. On the spot, I was there was blood on the ground.

“Alpha!”

“Leave, Everyone! Go home!” I yelled. They stood up and walked away from the bloody ground that we were. I was there in there facing the ground with my hands on my knees and broke down in tears. Covering my face with my palms.

I cried.

So hard. I felt someone drop to his knees beside me with a hand on my shoulders. I’ve gotten addicted to his scent already.

My buddy.

I wanted to be alone but I was scared of being alone.

He cried with me.

“I’m sorry..”

“You don’t have to be Creamy, I’m the one who should be. You’ve got stuck with someone like me.”

“Don’t say that. I couldn’t do anything to help.”

“There’s still time.”

“There’s no time.”

I wipe the tears off my face.

“You’ve to promise me something.”

“What is it?”

“Make her free from the curse. You’ve to promise me that Creamy. You’re the only one I trust with her. The only one I’ve got. You’ll help me, bring her back to the pack. Take her to meet the seer.”

“What are you saying, you’ve to do all that yourself..”

“I want that more than anyone else. I don’t think I can.” His hands were holding me, I was leaning on him now. I was weak, so weak and numb. I couldn’t move my body from the spot it was.

“You promised?”

“I...I promise. I’ll help her. But on one condition.”

“Which is?”

“I haven’t..” I felt his tears drop on my body.

“I haven’t found my mate yet, you’ve to help me find her. And don’t even think of leaving me. I’m gonna go with you.”

I chuckled. He’s crazy.

“I’m taking a night of sleep for a while. Creamy. You do your best. I know you’ll. About you mate. You won’t get to see her until I’m back on my feet.”

He sniffed while nodding to everything I says.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything.”

I touched his hands and smiled. One of the good things the moon goddess gave him was him. The mood suddenly went into hiding and dark clouds filled the sky as if it was about to rain. Everywhere was dark and thunder rumbled across the skies. The sudden change did not affect me. It would be better if it did rain.

“I know you’ll..” my hands fell from his hold and my eyes close up.

I heard my name but I was too far to hear what he had to say. And I couldn’t hear anything else.
