Chapter 77

Amaia Pov

The wound on my arm was getting healed, but deep down I felt hurt. I was among wolves but non could talk to me or see me. I was just there, still on my white dress and beneath the tree, I’d woke up from. All I do was stare at each wolf that walked past me. There was nothing else, I didn’t know how long I’d stayed or how long I would continue to be here.

I pulled my knees together and hugged them.

“...there’s something about this tree don’t you think?” I lift my eyes and saw his eyes. He was staring at me but not me because he couldn’t see me but the tree but what if he could see me? I doubt that.

Zyair!

I jerked up from the ground and made to run to him.

“There’s nothing special about it.” I halted when I heard the voice, I turned my gaze to his side and saw the woman beside me and a little boy. I parted my lips but I didn’t know what to say.

“The view is nice here too.”

“I’ll only agree on that. Let’s go.”

“Zyair..” I whispered and dragged my feet towards them. Maybe it wasn’t his family, maybe they are someone else’s.

He was still standing and staring at the tree until the little boy tugged at his sleeve.

“Let’s go, Daddy...”

I felt my heart chugging.

How long has it been, a year? Two years. I was completely forgotten. I was nowhere in their future. I was nowhere in this place.

I ran to him, even while I stand in front of him. He couldn’t see me.

I touched him but nothing.

“Zyair, what happened? I’m here..” my voice was quaking.

“Alright Zane, Let’s go.”

He took his tiny hands and they were leaving. I ran behind them. Meeting up with Zyair again.

“You forgot me! How could you!” I vent out. I was mad but there was nothing I could do. My face was soaked with tears already.

“Zyair? Can’t you see me, I’m right here. Please..” I cried but it was all in vain. They walked happily like most of the couples that come here. This couldn’t be happening, I wasn’t dead, there was no way I could be dead. It can’t be, something was just wrong somewhere.

I kept on trying to keep my pace with them, even when I tugged at his other arm, he didn’t look at me. Not a single glance, his smile wasn’t for me but someone else.

I let go of his arm. Standing by myself and watching them walk away from me. All I could do was stare at them.

It was Zyair, but it still didn’t feel like it was him. So close yet far away.

I pressed my lips together and muffled my cries.

“..Zyair..” the lowly whisper that came out of my mouth.

I was struggling with something I didn’t know what it was, but I kept fighting with it.

“She’s waking up..” I gasped out and my eyes fluttered open.

“Can you see me? Amaia, darling she’s awake.” It was father’s hand I’ve been pulling all along.

“Zyair..” I mumbled and tried to stand up from the bed. I fell back.

“You can’t get up just yet, you just woke up.”

“I need to see Zyair, Is he alive?”

I didn’t miss the twitch in my father’s face when I mentioned him. Of a rather disgusted look.

“He’s alive and well.”

“I need to see him.”

“We’ll send words that you’re awake.”

“I’m fine, I need to see him. He almost died.”

“You’re not fine! What about you didn’t you almost die? You’ve been lying there lifeless. If it had been normal. Isn’t that death?”

I leaned my head back on the pillow.

“You don’t have the powers you held anymore. If you stand up, you’ll end up falling and might not be able to stand without help.”

“Sorry..”

“I know you’re worried about him, but ever since he got up from his sickbed. I’ve never set my eyes on him.”

“What do you mean father.”

“He didn’t come to see you. Not even once. If something had happened to you, I’ll never have forgiven him.”

I couldn’t blame him, because it was because of him I was able to come back here. Now, I was back. But not as the cursed luna. But a hybrid luna.

The only hybrid in the pack and my strength was still intact. I woke up feeling strong, just at first, I had felt slightly weak.

“I’ll get you some tea. The physician would be here soon. He checks up on you every time.” He left his seat empty and his mother used the opportunity to sit on it. She began stroking my hair with a radiant smile on her smile face.

“You woke up, without any side effects. You woke up healed Amy. No pains, no headache. Free.”

“I’ve never been this happy. We’re free Amaia! Free!”

She throws her hands up in the air. I chuckled, while she laughed. A peal of laughter that was filled with so much happiness in it.

“How does it feel, c’mon feel it in the air, take it in your lungs. The happiness in the air, feel the dawn of the new season coming into our pack. Feel it. And it’s all because of you, waking up..”

She grabbed my hands.

“Do you feel like it?”

I close my eyes and exhaled just like she instructed. The feeling that I wasn’t cursed anymore. The feeling was bulging, I was at peace. And I could feel my wolf growling inside of me.

I burst out laughing. And together we laughed.

That our worst moments were over if we could overcome this. Then we would overcome all obstacles that would come our way because we’ve gotten stronger.

“Now..” she smiled at me. I turned to her with my hand placed on hers.

“Our Alpha has introduced his son to us. Zane Wren.”

How that happiness could easily be wiped out in a bit of a second and all you felt was anger and hate.

“He has a son. A cute adorable boy, you won’t even think of hating on him. Your mate already had an heir.”

Did I wake up late this time, I still don’t understand. What I dreamt about was real.

It was just a dream. Everything had been a dream right?

“What do you mean mother, how?”

“He’s gonna tell you all that, I know it had been difficult for him to tell you about it. So I wanted to help him, so it would be easy for him to tell you. He was probably shamed that he couldn’t step his foot in here. Wondering what he would say to us. It’s ain’t all that easy Amaia. But I trust you would understand. Not because you’re his mate but because of who you’re. If you don’t want to accept him, it’s your choice but how would your decision affect you? That’s what matters...” her hands went to my cheeks and she cupped them. “You’ll be fine.”

She left me.

I didn’t know what to think, or how I was feeling. But I know it wasn’t much of a good feeling.

Zyair already had a son.

“Call him, call that bastard!” I screamed like some crazy girl. Throwing my hair up.

“I’m gonna kill him!” I yelled with my legs hitting the bed.
