Milena's POV
Thumping. Heavy pounding. That's the sound coming from my chest as I approach the auditorium. The voluptuous hall that's filled with over five hundred people. Some of them I recognize but others had to introduce themselves and the rest I doubt they're acquaintances maybe relatives to the Connors.
Specifically speaking I don't see a need for an engagement party. I suppose it's Connor's tradition. Orchestra music was going on in the background while I walked toward my Dad trying to ignore my throbbing heart.
Maybe I'm just nervous. On my way to my father, I didn't miss the envious look people passed my way. They're admiring me for this? They might think I'm so lucky. I wish I was.
" Dad, grandpa, Mom" I called to their back and they turned around immediately smiling.
