First Day On The Job

"Sure! I will do my best."

Alan replied without thinking much about what Irina meant. He was just happy to know that he would get more time to spend with Cecilia and had forgotten that it was Irina who was helping him.

Moreover, being Cecilia's manager meant that he would be helping her.

Irina was satisfied, and Alan was also satisfied with the decision.

That night, Irina called Cecilia to tell her about their new manager. Irina picked up the phone and dialed Cecilia's number. After a few rings, Cecilia answered the call.

"Hey Irina, how's it going?"

Cecilia asked.

"I'm doing well, thanks for asking. I just wanted to let you know that I have already found a new manager for us."

Irina said on the phone. She didn't reveal that it was Alan as she wanted to surprise her tomorrow. Furthermore, she knew that she had a few things to explain regarding taking Alan as their manager.

*THUD!

Cecilia was excited to hear about the news and stood up from her bed.

"A new manager? That's great news! Who is it?"

Cecilia asked, her voice filled with excitement. They had been faced with this problem ever since Luna decided to change their assigned manager. No manager at Dreamwave Entertainment was willing to help them to avoid offending Luna.

Since they both had no connection of any kind to Idol World, they were unable to seek help from other people as well. Therefore, all they could do was wait for Dreamwave Entertainment to assign a new manager which might have taken more than a month.

By that time, they would have already missed their debut. They needed a manager as quickly as possible. Therefore, she was happy to know that Irina had gotten someone to become their manager.

Irina chuckled.

"You will find out tomorrow. I think you'll like him. He is a nice guy and I know he would do a good job."

She said.

Cecilia smiled.

"Well, that's good to hear."

After hanging up the phone, Cecilia felt a sense of relief. She had been feeling overwhelmed lately and Luna making problems for them was not helping her. Not having a manager when their debut was so close was an absolute disaster.

( Who could it be? )

She couldn't think of anyone who would offend Luna to just help some newbie. Anyone from Dreamwave Entertainment would know that becoming her and Irina's manager was equivalent to going against Luna Garcia. She was curious to know who that would be.

*****

That night, Alan was too excited to sleep. He could not believe that Irina was actually helping him get closer to Cecilia. For the first time, he felt glad that Irina was his childhood friend. At least at critical times, he could count on her.

As for becoming the manager, he didn't think about that seriously. He was only focused on taking this opportunity to know Cecilia more. Of course, to impress Cecilia, he was willing to work hard as well.

It was Saturday the next day and they had no classes. However, for Idol trainees, the weekend was no holiday for them. Instead, it was an intense training day for them.

Cecilia arrived at the agency early in the morning, eager to meet the new manager that Irina had hired. Irina had gone ahead of her, saying that she needed to show their new manager around and teach him some things that he needed to know.

As she walked towards the office, she couldn't help but wonder who it could be. She had worked with many people in the past, but she couldn't think of anyone who would be willing to go against Luna Garcia to become their manager.

When she reached the door to the office, she took a deep breath and opened it. As soon as she walked in, she was surprised to see Alan sitting at the desk, typing away on his laptop. Irina was near, yelling at him.

"Alan? What are you doing here?"

Cecilia asked. Her eyes widened in surprise.

"Cecilia, you came."

Alan stood up and walked towards her. A small smile adorned his face.

Irina chuckled.

"Surprise! Alan is our new manager."

Irina said.

Cecilia looked at Alan, her eyes completely unable to believe what she had heard.

"Alan? You're our new manager?"

Cecilia asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

Alan nodded, his smile growing wider.

"Yes, I am. I know it's a bit unexpected, but I promise to do my best."

Cecilia couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy. She had never thought of Alan as a professional manager. She knew managing idols was a tough job, and she wasn't sure if Alan had what it took to do it.

But as they had known each other for quite a while, she knew that Alan was quite capable. In the situation they were in, perhaps having someone from outside their company to help them was their only choice.

However, since she knew Alan well, she was even more worried as she knew that Luna would be making trouble for Alan. She might not have cared about other people, but Alan was Irina's childhood friend.

She was afraid that Luna might do something to Alan. However, Irina was the one who brought him there and it seems that she trusts Alan, so she also had no problem.

"Okay, Alan. I trust you. I will be counting on you from now onwards."

Cecilia said, with a small smile on her face.

Alan's heart skipped a beat at her words. He couldn't believe that he was going to be working with the girl he had been crushing on for years. He knew that he had to stay professional and focused, but he couldn't help but feel a bit giddy at the thought of spending more time with her.

And so, with Irina's help, Alan started his new job as Irina and Cecilia's manager. It was a new and challenging experience for him, but he was ready to take on the challenges and prove himself. He wanted to do everything that he could to help Cecilia.

Irina had brought him in the morning to get himself familiarized with everything in Dreamwave Entertainment. And at that time, he had already noticed the problem with Irina's proposal.

Judging by people's reactions, he could see that many people from Dreamwave Entertainment were avoiding Irina and him. He knew that Irina was one of the most promising Idol trainees, and for others to show this type of behavior to Irina was weird and unusual.

As an Idol trainee is someone who is destined to be an Idol, wouldn't it be great to have a good relationship with them? However, he was seeing the opposite of what he thought. He knew that there was definitely something going on that he had no idea about.

Alan got the opportunity to investigate when Irina went to the bathroom. He quickly grabbed hold of one of the employees and asked why people were avoiding Irina.

At first, he was hesitant but he seemed like a good guy and told Alan everything that he knew. He also warned Alan that Luna Gracia, the most popular Idol of their company was targeting Irina and Cecilia.

The employee also revealed the fact that Luna had taken the managers that were arranged for Cecilia and Irina. So, nobody wanted to offend Luna and was trying to avoid Irina because of that.

Alan's face darkened. Alan then understood why Irina was helping him. It was not that Irina wanted to help him with his love life but she needed something to drag him to become her manager.

( Dammit! I fell for her tricks again! What was her bullshit about fighting with her company to secure this position for me? I even praised her the whole night! F**K! )

Alan thought. He was even grateful thinking that Irina must have worked hard to convince the higher-ups into getting him as their manager. In reality, nobody wanted to be their manager and he was the scapegoat that Irina found to fill in that role.

However, he can't quit even if he wants to as he had already signed the contract, or should he say slave contract. Thinking that Irina had to work hard to get the contract, he signed the contract which was filled with unreasonable and every kind of demand that Irina had.

For example, he should work hard to provide Idol with top-quality songs and other works. The manager is expected to do everything that Idol asked of him.

Looking back, that contract was a scam and he was scammed yet again by Irina. He accepted these terms thinking that Irina must have worked hard to get the contract but knowing the truth, he knew that he was scammed into signing that slave contract.

"F**K, I want to resign!"

He yelled angrily. However, this was just for a moment. Even with such a problem, he knew that this was indeed an opportunity to get close to his crush. And it also seemed like this was a problem for Cecilia and he was always happy to help her.

The only problem was that Irina didn't reveal any of this and had deceived him into signing that contract with her unreasonable demands.

( I will never ever trust that wretch again! )
