Too pretty to be a servant

Seeing Licheng's disturbed face, Xiana again sat on the chair. "Licheng, whatever problem you have been undergoing, I suppose, you were not in a position to tell anyone about it at that time, at that age. You still are unable to tell me about it. However, your sister will demand answers from you. You cannot lie to her for a long time." Xiana had a soft spot whenever siblings were involved.

"I think I can only wait for her to come to him. I will go to Sister Ning daily, even if she ignores me so that she does not feel I do not care for her anymore," Licheng opined.

"That will be better," Xiana asserted. She found out Licheng was a loving big brother. He knew his faults and was ready to rectify those mistakes too.

"Why don't you tell me how such a magical power is bestowed on you?" Xiana again jumped to that question.

"Xiana, thank you for the advice you gave me. You can leave. I would like to stay alone for a while. Ahh, ask Eunuch Jize if Shen Daoren is awake. If yes, please ask him to come here," Licheng ordered her.

Xiana's jaw clenched because Licheng was so adamant about not telling her anything about him. She stood up again and went away, holding the bowl in her hand.

"I need to befriend those five martial warriors. They must know about Licheng," Xiana murmured and reached the room. Eunuch Jize was instructing a few servants about the cleaning and was discussing with a palace official to renovate the place.

"Eunuch Jize, is Shen Daoren awake?" Xiana interrupted their conversation. He looked at her with a puzzled expression while the palace official started talking with his assistant.

"I have no idea," Eunuch Jize replied and asked Xiana the reason why she suddenly asked about Shen Daoren.

"Prince Licheng wants to see Shen Daoren only if he is awake," Xiana stated.

"We need to check on that. I will come soon. Please wait here," Eunuch Jize told her.

Xiana stopped him and suggested to Eunuch Jize to continue his work. "Send a servant with me to show me where Shen Daoren is resting. I will bring him here if he is awake," Xiana advised Eunuch Jize, who readily agreed to it.

Eunuch Jize asked the palace official to wait for a minute and excused himself. A minute later, he came with a servant inside and asked Xiana to follow the servant.

"Thank you, Eunuch Jize," Xiana said and left with the servant. When Xiana reached outside the room, where Shen Daoren was resting, she told the servant she should leave. The servant silently complied with Xiana's command and walked away.

Xiana opened the door to Shen Daoren's room after knocking on it. "Shen Daoren, are you awake?" Xiana asked while staying outside.

Shen Daoren, who was in the dressing room after taking a hot water bath, came out after getting dressed. "Yes, Princess!" Shen Daoren answered her and found Xiana had opened the door fully.

Xiana, instead of telling him what Licheng had told her, walked in and closed the door behind her. Shen Daoren was taken aback by her action and asked Xiana what she wanted.

"Licheng wants to see you," Xiana finally said. "Why are you scared?" She huffed and crossed her arms across her chest. She looked at the sword holder, where Shen Daoren had put his sword. She realized that only Licheng could summon the sword in the free air.

"Shen Daoren, Prince Licheng told me a few things. He doesn't want me merely as a servant, but something more. Why didn't you tell me about it when I asked you in the rest house?" Xiana tried to be clever with her words.

"Princess Xiana cannot fool me with her words," Shen Daoren said and asked her if she would take him where Licheng was.

Xiana chuckled and lowered her arms. She could not believe that Shen Daoren was the same as Licheng. "Find yourself!" Xiana pronounced and turned to leave when Shen Daoren stopped her.

"Prince Licheng may punish Princess Xiana. He doesn't go easy when it comes to punishment," Shen Daoren told her.

Xiana turned to look at him. "Do you think I am scared of Licheng?" She questioned him. "My work was to inform you. You can find your dear prince yourself since you are an invincible Martial Warrior." She didn't leave any ground to taunt him. She turned around and walked away from there.

"What kind of temper does she possess?" Shen Daoren mumbled and decided to find out about Licheng's manor through a palace servant.

Xiana stopped in the corridor when she saw Su Xuanzi and Su Yuan coming from the front. Xuanzi frowned to see her and asked her why she was not working.

"Who is she, Brother?" Su Yuan asked with excitement.

"A servant," Su Xuanzi answered.

"What? She is too pretty to be a servant," Su Yuan said and the two princes stopped in front of her.

Xiana didn't like Su Xuanzi's behavior toward her. "Does the Second Prince have no other work than checking on me?" Xiana remarked.

"How could you speak this way with me?" Xuanzi took a step forward to intimidate her.

"Oh, I forgot that Prince Xuanzi will run to his mother like a crybaby," Xiana remarked. Xuanzi felt the insult in those words, but before he could say something to her, she left his sight as fast as possible.

"She doesn't appear to be a servant, Second Brother," Su Yuan said, "and she insulted you. She called Brother Xuanzi a crybaby." Su Yuan tried to control his laughter.

"Are you siding with that annoying woman?" Su Xuanzi got angry at his younger brother and decided to go to Licheng. He could not tolerate such behaviors from people like Xiana.

"Where is Brother Xuanzi heading to?" Su Yuan asked.

"To see Brother Licheng," Su Xuanzi replied. Su Yuan also followed his brother because he wanted to know more about Xiana.
