Her tone took on a defensive edge against her wishes. She took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself.

"He was waiting for me at the harbor, and in my fascination with the magical manifestation of the metallic object, I failed to realize that it was a one-way entry and exit," she said with regret. "None of it would have happened if I had only asked the coachman to accompany me."
