Their wedding night (part 2)

"I'll have my meal in bed." In a low, husky voice, he murmured. 

Egon guided Adela through the room, his hand pressed to the small of her back. Upon closer inspection, the back of the bed was made up of a metallic structure with a jasmine motif. Adela's heartbeat accelerated, it seemed that her husband always had her in mind when making choices concerning their surroundings.

Egon exhaled deeply.

"I'm so finely attuned to the sound of your heart."

Upon hearing this statement, her heart raced even faster.

He removed his gloves, placing them on the bedside table next to the fruit plate before taking a seat beside Adela on their massive bed. Extending his hand towards the plate again, he picked up a strawberry then held it between his lips. Slowly, he savored the fruit, maintaining unbroken eye contact with his wife until she averted her gaze.
