YNA was already in bed when H got out of the shower. The tall woman dried her short hair with a towel while sitting on the edge of the bed.
During the weekends, Yna stayed in the hotel’s penthouse. Her mate made sure that they spend a couple of days together since they were both busy on the other days of the week.
She gets a hold of the towel from her girlfriend. She toweled dry the other woman’s short hair. H must have liked it. She found the tall woman closing her eyes as she continuously rubbed the towel on her head.
“Your phone has been ringing while you were in the shower.” She spoke as she carried on drying her mate’s hair.
H picked up the towel from her hand. She went to the restroom to put it in the laundry. She searched for the phone in the pocket of her coat before sitting beside her.
“It’s my mom. She has been a nervous wreck since Maxim’s attempted kidnapping.”
“She must have been terrified.”
“She was. She got a call from the school that day. A few parents witnessed when that man grabbed my son.”
“That’s the reason why my men apprehended the getaway car when it was already a little farther from the school.”
“Did I tell you how much I’m thankful for what you did?”
“Yes.”
H grabbed both of her hands and kissed her knuckles. Slowly, their eyes met but her hands remained between the tall woman’s larger palms.
“You didn’t tell me what you did with the man who kidnapped my son.”
“My men sent him to prison.”
“I’m glad. It was a good thing, too, that Maxim was not traumatized.”
“He seeks for his bodyguard every time he went out of the classroom,” Yna said with a smile. The gesture was reported to her by the sentinel she posted to the boy.
“I have to tell the school that my son has a bodyguard. The administrator asked me if my son is a child of a politician.” H said with a laugh. “I just told her that his other mom is a princess.”
Yna stared at her mate with a smile. If only H knew how accurate her answer was. That Maxim having bodyguards was one of the perks of being part of the royal family.
She pulled her hands from H when her mobile phone rang. She seized it from under the bedside lamp.
“Yes.”
She listened to the person on the other line. He was making a report about the matter she needed immediate action.
“Good job.”
She put the phone back under the bedside lamp. She found H watching her like a hawk. She was lying on her side on top of the huge bed.
“Everything alright?”
“Of course.”
She lay on the bed and faced her mate. H did the same. Her hand was supporting her cheeks as they faced each other.
“I have to go back home tomorrow.”
“Does it have to do with the phone call you received?”
“Yes.”
“Can I come with you?”
Yna stared at her. The tall woman stared back. She exhaled before responding.
“We’ll leave tomorrow at seven.”
“Okay.”
H gathered her in her arms. Yna put her arm around her mate. She sniffed her neck to calm her nerves.
Tomorrow is a big day. Whatever happens tomorrow, one thing is sure. It will make a big impact on their relationship.
When she woke up the next day, H was no longer in bed. She went to the restroom to ready herself.
Wearing white, skinny jeans paired with a button-down navy blue sheer blouse, she went out of the bedroom. The two-inch, high-cut boots were very comfortable on her feet.
She smiled at H when she found her holding two cups of coffee. She already smelled the roasted beans when she opened the bedroom door.
Her mate was wearing jeans, too. She had on a white vee neck shirt under the opened black coat. Very simple but the ensemble placed an emphasis on her flat stomach.
Yna made a Turkey sandwich for them.
“I was thinking of a drive-thru in Mcdonald's. I’m craving their pancakes and fries. But this will do.” H said before finishing the sandwich in two more bites.
“My apologies if we can’t afford to have that drive-thru. However, we can have a proper breakfast when we get home.”
“Are your parents there?”
“Yes. Aki and his wife are possibly there, too.”
“Paulo and Amarillo?”
“My sister went back to South Korea with Paulo. She will ask for a transfer since she will be staying with him.”
“Where is he from?”
“Brazil.”
The tall woman nodded but she sighed after a while.
“I feel nervous, babe,” H admitted after sipping her coffee.
“Me, too.”
They both laughed as they finished their breakfast.
With five minutes to spare, they climbed the steps toward the helipad. Two sentinels were already waiting.
H remained quiet as they travel but she did not let go of her hand.
When they landed, several warriors were scattered in the huge manor of Rupert’s mansion. It can be seen before the plane could touch down.
They maybe royal but a castle is overrated. Even the older generations thought, too.
H was the one who removed the safety belt from her. She was also the one who helped her down despite a sentinel waiting by the door.
The sentinel bowed his head. “Welcome to the manor, Your Highness.”
“Where is the prisoner?”
“He is in the basement, Your Highness.”
“Take me to him.”
The sentinel bowed at her again before leading the way.
Every warrior that they passed through bowed their head in respect. H remained quiet beside her. Aside from the presence of the woman beside her, her mate did not let go of her hand.
They rode an elevator. When they reached basement three, the door opens.
The warrior monitoring the CCTV footage in the hallway stood up when he saw them. He bowed his head.
“Your Highness.”
“Where is he?”
He stopped for a moment. She waited as he mind linked for someone.
“Maybe it’s better if you stayed here while I talk to this prisoner.” She said to H as they wait.
“I’ll be wherever you are.”
Yna did not counter back. The look on her mate’s face says no room for an argument.
An armed warrior approached them. He bowed when he was a couple of meters away.
“Please follow me, Your Highness.”
They paced toward the farthest cell. She tagged H’s hand when they were a door away.
“Stay here. Please.”
She let go of her hand when H nodded. She turned to the warrior and gave him the command to open the cell.
He pressed his palm at the pad beside the door. After the whizzing sound, the metal door opened.
The warrior followed her inside. The prisoner stood up when he recognized Yna. He bowed.
“At ease.” She commanded.
The prisoner stands straight. Yna watched him fidget as she gazed at him intently.
The prisoner was in his early forties. The used to be leaned body in his younger years was gone. He already formed a little beer belly. His eyes were bloodshot, too.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“Who am I then?”
“You’re Princess Ynara Rupert.”
“Do you know why you’re here?”
“No, Your Highness. I was apprehended by the sentinels from my home. They did not tell me the reason. As far as I know, I did not make any offense against the throne.”
She stared into his eyes when he tried to meet hers. He immediately looked down in shame.
“You actually committed treason against the throne.” She said calmly. “You attempted on kidnapping the son of your princess.”
The shock was visible in his eyes when he raised his face. “H-how? The child is human. He is my s----”
There was no ounce of surprise in her demeanor when she found H beating the prisoner. There was pure rage in every punch she released.
The tall woman entered the cell quickly that even the guard was unable to apprehend her.
Yna watched her mate let loose. It was the only way she could release the anger she felt. The poor guy was not able to defend himself.
Out of breath, H kicked him in the balls as she straightened. The prisoner was crumpled on the floor in a pitiful state.
Yna pulled her mate. H did not protest but her eyes were sending daggers to the man who was responsible for the attempted kidnapping of her child.
“Mercier, w-what are you doing here?” The prisoner asked. His eyes, mouth, and nose were bleeding. His hand was covering his middle while the other was on his private part.
“How could you do that to my son?!” H yelled.
“He is my son, too!”
“W-what?”
“I am the father of your precious son, Mercier. I wanted to get him in exchange for bucks. You owe me. I never want him but I need that money and you have lots of it.” He spats. He tried to pull himself into a sitting position.
H is about to charge him again but Yna pulled her back. Again.
“Babe, he’s not worth it.”
“He put my son in danger, Ynara!”
“But our baby is safe.” H is about to retort back but Yna held her face between her palms. “Look at me.”
Her mate focused her eyes on her. She was breathing heavily.
“He is safe. He has bodyguards around the clock.”
H nodded after a while. She sighed loudly.
Yna put her hand out after she let go of her mate. Palm up. The warrior placed the gun in her hand.
She released the magazine. She put it back when she confirmed that silver bullets were inside.
Anything silver is the werewolf’s kryptonite. They may be a fast healer but when silver was added into the equation, it would hurt like a mother f*cker and it heals slower. It will continue to throb until the silver was removed.
She pointed the gun at the prisoner’s knee. She pulled the trigger. His scream echoed in the prison cell. She did the same with the other knee.
“Give him steak for dinner.” She commanded the warrior after she returned the gun.
She pulled H from there. The cries of pain were still heard in the small confinement.
