Phoenix.

In the following week, Chi Lian's routine had been the same every day. Exercise and make money. This particular morning however, she was anticipating something.

She woke up to the sound of the singing birds and rustling leaves. It was still dark outside but she wanted to start training her body without any further delay. She had a lot she desired to protect which meant that she had to be in supreme fighting shape.

And Jun Muyang who had been absent for a week had finally re-appeared last night, gossip in the community was that he worked out every morning. She was hoping to run into him.

She checked on Mei-Mei who was sleeping on her stomach with her butt up in the air. She kissed the child on the cheek and left the house.

She run for about an hour and then hit the gym for strength training. Thirty minutes into her training, Jun Muyang walked into the gym.

"Target acquired.' T4 who had been deathly silent since yesterday woke up.

"Shut up or go into sleep mode."

"Shutting up." The system whined.

Smiling, she sauntered over to where he was. His hair was damp and one tiny drop of water was flowing down to his pink lips.

Chi Lian followed the movement of the water and stared at his lips. Her eyes moved to his Adams apple and chest. The man had a perfectly structured abdomen with a six pack. She couldn't help herself, her breathing became faster and she licked her bottom lip.

"You should control your lust." A voice brought her out of whatever fantasies were running around in her head.

"I am not lusting." She lied. But the red on her cheeks and ears gave her away.

"I can smell your lust." He sniffed the air and laughed.

"You-you-you-humph.-"Chi Lian stomped her foot in anger. "Can I buy you dinner?" she blurted.

"I don't eat with lustful women." Jun Muyang covered his chest as if he were a shy virgin maiden and she was planning to swallow him whole. He walked away with a smug look on his face.

"Oooh" T4 whined.

"Not one word out of you." She said.

As she finished up the rest of her set, she cursed Jun Muyang over and over. She planned her revenge in her mind. That man was going down.

Breakfast in the Chi household was a loud affair. The addition of a baby to the family was a joyous affair especially now that Mei-Mei was bathed and dressed adorably. Her hair had been separated into two buns and she was wearing a pink tutu dress. She looked like a princess. Mama Chi was the architect of this look.

She was currently carrying Mei-Mei and feeding her porridge.

"Chi-Chi, how old is Mei-Mei?" she asked.

"One and a half years old. She will be making two in December."

"This means she can walk." Papa Chi said. He had raised three children by now and he was pretty knowledgeable about their development.

"I don't know about that." Chi Lian was unsure. "Should we put her down and check?"

"Mmm," Mama Chi put Mei-Mei down.

Different members of the family started clapping and singing to encourage a confused Mei-Mei to walk. The little one could not understand why she was taken away from her breakfast that she was enjoying. She took a few steps in the direction of mama Chi who was holding her porridge.

Laughter followed her movement.

"Sis your daughter is going to be a little foodie." Chi Zimo shook his head.

"Do you think you ate any less when you were child? You were not just a foodie; you used to steal snacks from the kitchen." Mama Chi mocked Chi Zimo.

"Mother!, don't embarrass me like that in front of Mei-Mei." He whined.

"Then don't embarrass your niece."

"It's not as if she can understand anything, she is still a baby" He mumbled.

Chi Lian ignored her sullen baby brother. He was good at starting conflicts and then seeking for support when he could not take the fire.

"Mother I transferred some money to your account. Please help me look after Mei-Mei for the rest of the day."

"Don't worry. Mei-Mei is now my granddaughter."

"Chi Wei, Chi Rui, let's go."

Chi Zimo looked betrayed, "Why are you all leaving me behind?"

"We are going to work."

"Children should concentrate on reading books." Chi Rui laughed.

"Bye child." Chi Wei waved.

The three walked out of the house while laughing. Behind them, Chi Zimo could be overheard complaining about how he was being bullied.

In the car, Chi Wei finally asked the question which had been on his mind since the previous night.

"Little sis, where are we going?"

"I told you, we are going to work."

"No offense sis, but I am not cut out for paparazzo work." Chi Rui said. He was too handsome to be a paparazzo.

Chi Lian rolled her eyes. "Who said anything about that?"

"Then what are we going to do?"

"We are starting our online news channel officially starting today. Older brother will write our articles and second brother you will be in charge of monitoring our traffic."

The two brothers stared at each other and then at their sister. When she talked about entering the media business they actually thought she was joking.

"We have arrived."

They were in an area called Bali Street. It was a busy town filled with schools, supermarkets, restaurants and residential areas. In front of their eyes, an old worn out three storied building was standing tall. Most of its windows were covered with newspapers and the entrance door was rusted.

"I bought this building." Chi Lian announced happily. "It may be a little old but it's ours."

She looked at it and laughed, "Okay maybe not just a little old. But I promise you that the inside is much more beautiful."

Indeed, the inside of the building was much more modern than they expected. The tiled floors were clean and the walls had been painted.

There were three closed offices and each had a nametag for each member of the Chi family present. The open office area had the same lay out as any other office. It consisted of around six different desks with a computer and a phone on each desk.

"Do we have other co-workers?"

"Not yet. But it doesn't hurt to be ready. One day, this whole building will be filled with colleagues."

"Then we will work hard to support you sis." Chi Wei put his hand around her shoulder.

"And so will I." Chi Rui tried to put his hand around her other shoulder.

Chi Lian shrugged and push their hands away. Having older brothers is good but clingy, over protective brothers were something else entirely.

"I have already registered the company. All that is left to do is to start work immediately."

"What is the name of the company?"

"Phoenix." Chi Lian paused, her eyes filled with a raging burning fire, "Phoenix media."

Chi Wei and Chi Rui could feel a storm raging within their hearts. Yes, Phoenix was the perfect name. They had been reborn from their suffering and now they were ready to soar.

"Where do we start?" Chi Wei asked.

"Here." Chi Lian placed down a heavy file.
