10 – The Big Warehouse

"Is that the place?" From a distance, Ciara peeked into a large warehouse that stored various electronic needs. It was already late, but that didn't matter to this girl. Her eyes could see in the dark. "I didn't see any movement at all."

"The tentacle monster is very sensitive to sound and vibration." I. "When we approach the building, I guarantee the creature will approach us."

I hope there won't be any significant changes from that monster, so I can make use of my knowledge.

A deep sigh escaped Bonnie's mouth. "I hate that monster. It's so slimy, and its goal is just to entangle you with its tentacles…. And the worst thing is, that creature has a tendency to touch parts that it shouldn't."

Project Axiom never explained those details.

"Let's go." I came out from behind the rubble where we were hiding. "Remember, our goal is not only the battery but also a portable solar generator, a sun lamp, and a drill for ourselves."

I don't need a large battery for a small colony. It will only increase our burden.

"Very well, sir." Ciara let go of her 'cloak' and threw it away, causing a somewhat dramatic scene. And, of course, I saw her beautiful curves again.

Damn. I guess I'll never get used to it.

"Is this what we are looking for?" Ciara crouched down on the suitcase-like objects strewn across the floor.

We have encountered themes like this many times. Lots of stuff was scattered across the floor. There were also broken shelves, and the walls were cracked or riddled with bullet holes.

Looks like big fights have happened a few times here.

I checked one of the objects and found EA-68 markings on it. "Yeah, this is what we're looking for. Choose the one that's in the best condition."

"Don't you guys feel suspicious?" Bonnie muttered while carrying a larger suitcase that contained a portable solar generator. "If that monster is really sensitive to sound and vibration, we should have met it long ago. But we've been here long enough, and that sucker doesn't say hello."

"We better focus on finding what we need," I answered when finally Ciara made her choice on the battery, which still looked like new. "Maybe we're lucky this time."

But I'm actually surprised too. Why didn't that monster attack us?

And suddenly, there was a thud. When I turned to Ciara, I found that girl's legs had been entangled by tentacles, and her body was being pulled away.

"Sh*t!!!" Bonnie tried to aim at the monster that did it, but she couldn't find the creature.

Ciara tried to attack the tentacles with her sword, but her body bumped into various items, making it difficult for her to even move.

Bonnie and I tried to chase Ciara but stopped when a green ball-shaped, multi-tentacled monster emerged from an intersection. That creature is four times the size of a human and almost touches the ceiling of this warehouse.

It lifted Ciara upside down and entangled her body with more slimy tentacles.

"Ugh…." She could do nothing but groan in pain. Even so, she still maintained the sword in her hand.

Her energy shield doesn't apply to entanglements like this, apparently.

"I will save you, Ciara." Bonnie fired her machine gun, but she also had to dodge the attacks from the tentacles. "Arrrghhhh!!!"

It didn't take long until the monster entangled her and lifted her body up high.

"You f*cking ugly monster!" Bonnie was still trying to shoot the enemy, but it was too hard. "Let go of me! You destroyed the pasta in my bag…. Ughhh…."

She was also powerless to avoid the other tentacles that started circling her body.

I didn't just sit idly by while those events unfolded. I've been looking around for something I can use to attack that monster.

After all, I have sworn to protect them. I can't give up.

Those women's voices grew weaker, and they found it increasingly difficult to breathe. I'm trying not to panic. I have to focus on finding that thing while the monsters haven't noticed me yet.

And finally, I found what I was looking for, a large drone used to transport goods. I immediately plugged my data cable into that tool and started bypassing it. I need to look at the string of commands in this drone code, then modify them to my liking.

Hang in there, Bonnie, Ciara.

Because the code on the drone wasn't as complicated as E.E.S. or other equipment in that military base, I only needed a short amount of time to fly this thing. But is that enough?
