39 – The Chase

"Three!!!" As soon as Greg pressed the switch, a massive explosion occurred. Bits of cobwebs and spider body parts flew in the air, accompanied by white liquid.

And spiders the size of adult pink heads started crawling to the apartment colony members. Those people immediately shot at the monsters with their respective weapons.

Bonnie also did the same thing using her machine gun. At the same time, Ciara got ready by looking at the giant spider that was still lying motionless.

"Don't run!!!" Ben screamed at the top of his lungs as the spiders drew closer to their comrades. "We can still survive!!!"

Those creatures then fired projectiles at human beings. Even though those things were only the size of a human thumb and had no significant impact, they were enough to make humans panic.

"Hey, get back to your positions!!!" Rayne snapped because her colleagues ran away. "Shit!!!"

Rayne and Ben used their small chainsaws to attack the monsters that were so close to them. Some of the humans who fled fell because their legs were hit by pincers from the creatures' mouths.

Their further fate was so terrible. The spiders will surround those humans and cut them into pieces with their pincers.

"You cowards!!!" Rayne sounded even angrier. She was overwhelmed because several spiders crawled over her E.E.S. "You guys said it yourself that you are ready to fight for the safety of our home!!! If it's like this, you don't have to come!!!"

Rayne's anger was justified. The fallen humans were only three. If only the apartment residents were willing to hold the position, they could fight against those tiny monsters.

"Let Ben and Rayne fight the little ones! Let's focus on that big monster!" I gave the order. "Strike it before it rises!"

Bonnie flew using her thruster while Bonnie blitzed, raising her sword. They hadn't even launched an attack yet, but that monster ran away at top speed.

"Shit!" Bonnie cursed. "It wants to hide!"

I suspect those tiny spiders are just stalling for this truck-sized monster to live. This creature may need time to activate its muscles.

I miscalculated a bit.

"Don't let that monster escape!" I warned.

I controlled the hoverbike to catch up with Ciara, and the super soldier jumped on the vehicle. She immediately turned the throttle to chase after that giant monster.

"Damn it!" Bonnie had a bit of trouble shooting that creature, which was zigzagging at high speed. She had to fly high because the giant spider had entered the dense building area. The tiny girl realized that she couldn't move swiftly through tight buildings.

"Don't stop, Bonnie!!! We can definitely do it!!!" I gave her encouragement. "Don't let that monster grow into an adult! It's escaping from us because its body is not perfect yet! That means this is a good opportunity for us!"

I, who was perched on the bike's body, could see that Ciara was moving the vehicle madly, continuing to follow the direction of the enemy's movement.

Until finally, we managed to catch up with the spider monster. The super soldier's left hand already holds the sword, while her right hand remains on the throttle.

However, just about to swing the weapon, Ciara realized several tiny monsters were above the giant spider.

The super soldier shielded her face with her arm as those creatures fired small projectiles. These objects won't deal severe injuries, but the series of spider webs they form can block your view.

"Watch out, Ciara!!!" I screamed because we were about to turn a corner full of buildings.

Suddenly, the super soldier turned her bike and made its side graze a building. In no time, the monsters had left us quite far.

"Die, motherfucker!!!" Bonnie came out at another intersection and confronted the monster. I did order her to take a detour.

She did give a few shots, which slowed down the monster's movement. But it didn't take long for that creature to fire a projectile that wrapped the tiny girl's body in a net.

Even so, Bonnie's actions slowed down the monster's movements. So we can catch up with that creature.

Ciara slashed the enemy's back legs, making its run even slower and unbalanced. The tiny spiders on its body also fell.

But the monster can still climb a tall building vertically. Ciara was not affected by that and continued to chase her enemy, even though she had to move her bike to do the same thing.

She drove her vehicle straight up, like a rocket going into space.
