Ye Chun stopped by the house to pick up Ye Qing Luo at the house before they went straight to the old residence.
On the family's way to the house, Ye Qing Luo could not stop asking her parents about her sister's condition. Ruan Xia explained to her daughter what the doctor said and the family was once again celebrating that Ye Qing Xin's memory might come back.
Ye Qing Xin watched her family members helplessly. But she really liked being with this family a lot.
"Ye Heng would be very happy to hear this as well," Ye Chun said. He looked at Ye Qing Xin through the rear mirror. "He called this morning to tell me that his business was almost done and he might return soon."
"My brother?" Ye Qing Xin recalled that her elder brother's name was Ye Heng.
"Mhm..." Ye Chun's expression froze when he recalled his daughter's memory loss. His daughter did not remember anyone from the family. perhaps, she would not remember anything about her brother. He suddenly wondered how would the siblings react when they see each other.
After driving for a while, the family arrived at the old residence.
Ye Qing Xin helped carry the souvenirs they bought for her grandparents into the house.
The butler helped to open the door for them before announcing that her grandparents were still upstairs in their room.
Since her grandparents were upstairs, Ye Qing Xin decided to walk around the house to look around. The last time she visited this place, there were too many people around and she did not have a good look at the place.
Initially, her little sister wanted to go with her. However, Ye Qing Xin said that she wanted to spend her time alone and see if she could remember something.
Later, Ye Qing Xin began to notice that something was a little strange.
Even without her sister beside her, Ye Qing Xin seemed to know the house well. The house was so familiar to her.
For example, she would still recognize the slight crack on the floor that would lead her to the garden. If she was not careful, she might trip and fall. However, her mind reminded her of this crack and Ye Qing Xin was able to avoid this crack in time.
Most people would not notice this crack unless one has been living in this house for a long time, or frequently visited this place.
As the realization came to her mind, Ye Qing Xin began to stare at the crack for a long time.
She could not help but wonder why she would know about this crack.
Could it be that the previous Ye Qing Xin's memory was slowly returning? Or was it just her body's memory?
What was going on?
"Xin Xin..."
The gentle and familiar voice snapped her out of her trance. Ye Qing Xin turned around and saw that her grandfather was standing behind her with his usual kind smile. The old man was holding a walking stick in his right hand.
"Grandpa," Ye Qing Xin greeted. Warmth filled her heart, each time that she see him.
Even though she might not remember the person in front of her, the familiar feeling was always there. Being around her grandfather made her feel comfortable.
Ye Qing Xin recalled that her sister had once mentioned that she was quite close to her grandfather. In the past, she would often come to this place and spend her time with her grandparents.
She wondered if spending her time at this house with her grandparents would make the previous Ye Qing Xin's memory return.
"When did you get here?" Ye Ting asked. He waved his hand and waited for Ye Qing Xin to walk to his side. Once he reached her side, Ye Ting patted his granddaughter's head.
"Not too long ago," Ye Qing Xin spoke. The sense of familiarity increased when she stood beside her grandfather. It felt as if this was how they usually acted when they were together.
Ye Qing Xin recalled that her little sister had once said that her grandfather liked to pamper her.
She held her grandfather's arm and spoke, "Grandpa, my parents are waiting for you in the living room. I heard from the butler that Grandma had prepared a lot of delicious food for tonight."
Ye Ting laughed. "Are you hungry?"
Ye Qing Xin nodded. "Un. I'm starving."
The grandfather and granddaughter walked to the dining room together. Ye Qing Xin held her grandfather's arm, supporting him as he walked.
"How are you feeling? It seemed that your injury is recovering well." The last time Ye Ting saw his granddaughter, she still had a bandage on her arm. But now, the bandage was no longer there.
"Grandpa, I'm feeling great. My parents made me stay at home to recuperate. They fed me with a lot of food and would watch me take my medicine."
Ye Ting laughed. "That's good. Xin Xin, you have to listen to them well. Otherwise, how can you recover quickly?"
Ye Qing Xin cast a few glances at her grandfather while worrying that her grandfather would notice that something was different about her.
After all, the matter of her losing her memory was kept a secret from her grandparents. There were not many people who knew about this matter.
Then, her grandmother showed up and they began to have dinner together. The atmosphere livened up with her little sister's chattering voice.
Meanwhile, Ye Qing Xin was observing the people around her quietly.
Ye Qing Xin felt at ease once she was surrounded by many people. She felt that trying to keep her secret from her grandparents was easier this way. With her parents and little sister around, her grandparents would not notice anything strange about her, right?
Once dinner ended, Ye Qing Xin decided to have a walk in the garden with her sister. However, since Ye Qing Luo needed to use the toilet, Ye Qing Xin decided to walk around first.
It was dark outside. But Ye Qing Xin could still tell that her grandparents had a beautiful garden.
The sounds of footsteps behind her made her turn around.
Ye Qing Xin looked at her grandfather in surprise, not expecting him to be in the garden. Before she left, her grandfather was still talking about some business with her father.
"Grandpa." Flashing a smile, Ye Qing Xin walked over to the older man. "Why are you here?
Ye Ting looked at his granddaughter for a few seconds longer before he spoke, "Xin Xin, accompany me for a walk, alright?"
