Hang out together

The entire lecture went with worries for Ariana as she could concentrate because of the boy sitting next to her.

Griffin had been disturbing her the entire time. Even after Lucian warned him, the boy seemed too ignorant of his professor's warnings. She felt as if he was purposely trying to cause trouble for them, even though he knew Lucan wasn't in a good mood.

Thinking about Lucian's mood she wondered what was wrong with him today. He had been sulking the entire time with his brows knitting the whole lecture.

Once the class ended Lucian walked out of the room without sparing a glance at her.

"By the way, what are you doing after college? I was thinking if we two hang out together?" Griffin asked breaking her eyes from Lucian's disappearing figure and she turned to look at him. "Huh!"

Staring at her dazed expression Griffin smiled. She looked like a kid who wasn't aware of what she was been asked.

"I thought since Julianna isn't here with you, why not we hang together after all we are friends now" Griffin was trying his best to sound like a sensible person keeping his words as gentle as possible.

After observing Ariana since yesterday, he understood that she didn't speak much and had been hanging out with Julianna one of the bright students in the class and also a nerd.

He wondered whether she liked interacting with those who were invisible to everyone and liked minding their own business or if she preferred tagging the popular one since her guardian was one among them.

Ariana snapped out of her trance when she heard him refer to them as friends when in reality she didn't even like to talk with him.

Julianna had already told her about Griffin's personality as the popular guy in the college and how he only approached girls to flirt with them,

'No thanks' were the words Ariana told herself when Juliana asked her if she wanted to be friends with him. She was very much clear that she didn't like extreme attention that would make her life suffocating if she happened to become friends with Griffin.

She wanted to complete her education by being the invisible one.

"Hm... Griffin, I don't think I would be able to hang out with you. You must know Mr. Donovan, my guardian pick and drops me at college" Ariana pursed her lips into a thin line when she stated the truth.

'It wasn't like he didn't know anything, still, he asked you out' her subconscious mind commented.

Griffin once again missed his chance of being close to her and the person was non-other than Lucian.

"It's okay, I can understand. You must be thinking Mr. Donovan would get upset with you if you hang out with me"

'Yes'

"No.no.. that's not what I meant. Mr. Donovan never stopped me from making friends but it's me who doesn't want to disappoint him" Griffin's lips twitched when he understood how much Ariana respected Lucian and that made him hate him more.

'What was so good about that man that everyone liked to be in his good books'

Hiding his displeasure, Griffin put on a fake smile and picked up his bag as he stood up to leave. "Never mind, but if you ever change your mind and chose to hang out with me, then let me know" saying he walked away from there.

Once Griffin was out of her sight, Ariana took packed her back and stepped out of the class.

"ARI..." Julianna's voice caught her attention and she stopped, turning to her right.

Juliana was leaning by the wall straightened when she watched Ariana step out of the classroom.

"Anna!... I thought you didn't come to college today" Ariana quickly rushed to her friend the second she saw her.

"I just woke up late and reached the college late" Scratching the back of her head, Julianna smiled awkwardly looking at Ariana.

Ariana understood why she woke up late. The medicine she was prescribed was too strong which made her sleep more than she did.

"It's okay, but how's your leg? Does it still pain and what about the swelling?" brushing her shyness, Ariana inquired about her sprained leg as she examined it carefully.

"No, it doesn't" Julianna answered casually.

Straightening Ariana arched her brow as she looked at Julianna suspiciously." Then why have you still bandaged it" Her words made Julianna's smile drop the next second and she coughed suddenly recalling what happened to her after she reached the college.

"Um... that... Professor Drake made me where that " Julianna dropped her head in shyness the second she finished speaking.

"WHAT!.."

Ariana's shocked voice grabbed the attention of the students who were standing in the corridor.

"Is this girl weird? Why is she yelling?" one of the students who walked past them commented giving her a strange look.

"I think she is scolding this nerd" The other one next to her chuckled and left away.

Shocked by their statement Ariana too dropped her head as she could feel everyone was already staring at them.

Without raising her head up, she held Julianna's wrist and dragged her away from there, running from getting even more embarrassed.

"Where do you think they ran away like this?" Drake asked turning his eyes from the screen to Lucian who didn't know why was looked so gloomy from the moment he stepped into his cabin.

He looked like this sulking pub as he watched the footage in front of him with a cute frown on his face. He wondered what made this alpha's mood turn even sourer than it already was.

Once the girls were out from the footage, it was then Lucian averted his gaze at Drake. "That's none of your business" His cold tone made Drake twitch his lips in annoyance.

"Then why did you ask me to keep an eye on this girl? You know it's not my duty to follow your commands" Drake sounded displeased with the way Lucian was treating him.

He had long given up his rank as Lucian's beta yet this man never let him be at ease.

"I am not instructing you as my beta. I am asking a favor from my friend. Did you forget before becoming my Beta you were my best buddy" Lucian spoke with a straight face ignoring the man who watched him with utter disbelief.
