Relics of the past

After leaving the boat, they submerged themselves under the water and began swimming towards their designated destination. After a moment, they arrived at the place where they had previously dived - an old museum. They looked at everything in amazement, as if they were seeing it for the first time, despite having been there many times before and having looked at the same sculptures. This world was really distant for them - all the technology that their grandparents had told them about was unfamiliar to them, yet they lacked nothing.

People of the present times really have it good and think that what they have now will last forever. However, everything can change, for example, due to war or destruction caused by a catastrophe. What do you think the history of that world is about?

Now let's move on to what happened next with Leo and Zohar's group. They submerged themselves underwater and after looking at all the sculptures, they headed towards the shops, browsing all the shelves in search of canned food. However, they found nothing, so they returned to the boat and went back home.

They got off the boat, and Mr. Kael approached them and asked, "So, did you find anything interesting?" "No, nothing," replied a sad Leo, and went towards his cabin. On the way, he met...

"Dad, what happened next?" Zohara daughter asked.

"Tomorrow, I'll tell you what happened next. And now, go to sleep," Zohar replied, and a tear rolled down his cheek as he thought of his deceased friend.

After a moment, his wife entered the room and said, "Are you telling her that story again?"

"Yes, because without him, we wouldn't be here," he said, then looked out the window, reminiscing about those days.

And who did he meet there? He met his future wife, Yuki. She was a young girl working in a nearby workshop at that time. Leo was still a young boy then, but he was immediately attracted to her smiling face and soft voice. He visited the workshop every opportunity he got just to see her again. And eventually, they fell in love and got married. Remembering that moment made Zohar smile, despite his sadness.

Three years after those events, Leo, Zohar, and their group set out again to dive in the same place. There, they encountered a new, previously unknown species of fish that also glowed in the dark. They named it Noctilucida nepte.

Leo asked, "Do you see that octopus?" Someone from the crew answered, "Yes, it seems to be hunting those fish." "Let's swim somewhere else," added Zohar. So they decided to leave that place and go to another spot.

There, they found an old shipwreck that had sunk many years ago. They decided to explore the wreck and discovered many valuable items, including old maps and watches. During the exploration of the wreck, the group noticed something amazing - in one of the cabins, they came across an old book written in an unknown language. Leo was fascinated and decided to take it home with him to study its contents. Upon returning from the expedition, he began working intensely on translating the text. Three months passed, and Leo still couldn't read a single word.

After another three months, Leo realized that without proper training and language knowledge, he was unable to decipher the book. He decided to abandon it and focus on other projects where he could achieve greater success. He didn't want to waste any more time on something that might prove fruitless. He gave the book to Mr. Kael.

"Hi, Leo," Kael said.

Leo replied, "Hello! Are you busy? I brought you this book we brought back from the expedition, remember?"

"Yes, yes. I remember. Is there something wrong with it?" Kael replied after a moment.

"Not everything in it is alright, at least that's what it seems to me. Maybe you can figure it out?" added Leo.

Kael gently opened the book and said, "I think I know someone who might understand something from this book."

"Really!? Who is it?" quickly responded the intrigued Leo.

Kael told Leo about an elderly woman who is over Eighty years old and is one of the last people who knows ancient languages. As Kael talked about this woman, Leo interrupted him and said:

"Sorry for interrupting you, but Zohar also has old maps. Do you think she might know what's on them?"

"I doubt it, she's only Eighty years old, so she would have to be over One hundred years old to know something like that,"

Kael replied, and then added after a moment, "Could you go get Zohar and bring those maps too? I'll see for myself what's on them and check the notes."

Leo went to get Zohar, and together they brought the maps to Kael. They checked them until late at night, but they didn't deduce anything from them. It's already too long ago to understand anything. All the cities are flooded, and they live on an old oil rig, not even knowing what it is. Humanity practically collapsed, thinking only of technology, they had only their grandparents' stories in mind.
