Nightmare

Morning came, the sun slowly rising, but Leo began to slowly wake up. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash his face. He looked at himself in the mirror and even though he knew it was him, he didn't recognize himself. He felt very shaken by everything.

He left the bathroom and sat on the couch, then turned on Holo News - the fastest news platform in the country. "Another cyberpsycho attack and four people killed again," he heard. He listened further and heard about a strange overheating of Neurlink, used for practically everything - from email matters to turning on computers and so on. After that, he turned off the news, got up, and started changing. He put on a leather red and black motorcycle jacket and pants. He took the keys to his black Kawasaki ZX motorcycle with red stripes on the sides. It was an old motorcycle that he got from his father, but Leo didn't care. He took his black helmet and left the apartment.

He went down the stairs and headed towards the elevator. On the way, he met a homeless person who asked him for money. Leo gave him some change he had with him. A moment later, the homeless person hugged him, and during that time, he took Leo's wallet from the back pocket, where his last money was. However, Leo didn't notice this and continued towards the elevator. He got in and clicked the underground floor, where his motorcycle was.

He arrived at the parking lot and approached the motorcycle. Then he got on it, inserted the keys, and started revving the engine vroom vroom. With the motorcycle running, he drove out of the underground parking onto the street, where there were many cars driving and people walking on the sidewalks. The smell of burning was in the air. Leo drove to the right and then reached the intersection, where he went straight towards the grocery store.

On the way, he drove past yellow police tape, where those four people were likely murdered. He noticed a policewoman who was being placed in a black bag. He stopped on the side of the road, looked at her as if he saw Yuki, who wasn't even a real person. He continued on and after fifteen minutes of riding, he arrived at the place where he got off the motorcycle, took out the keys, and went into the store.

"Good morning," said the cashier. Leo looked at her and asked, "Do you have any painkillers like these on this list?" Handing her the note that Dr. David gave him, he also asked, "Will I find any alcohol here?"

"In the back of the refrigerator, on the right side, there is alcohol, and the medicine you need can be found on the left side, just behind the sweets," she replied. Then Leo placed his helmet next to the cash register and went towards the fridge where he was already picking out alcohol. At that moment, an armed man burst into the store, who was in charge of the cashier's money. When she gave him the money, he shot her straight in the face. Bang. Leo was hiding behind a shelf and wanted to react, but he didn't make it in time. The man who did it already ran away with the money, and Leo quickly grabbed the alcohol and medicine, then took his helmet and left the store, getting on his motorcycle.

However, he decided not to leave and laid everything on the ground, then ran back into the store to look at the cashier. He looked at her, but she didn't even have a face, yet she said "you left me". At that moment, Leo moved back, but he stumbled and hit his head on the ground. It woke him up from that nightmare. He woke up again at home, at three o'clock in the morning, all sweaty, "The F... was that?" he says.

He got up again, took a warm shower and lay back down. However, he started a science fiction movie on his laptop. It's unclear when he fell asleep again. This time he slept until one o'clock, longer than usual, if it weren't for the phone that woke him up.

"Hello Leo? I'm calling about your job," said the caller.

"Go ahead, what happened?" Leo replied.

"There's nothing specific. We'll need you in fifteen days. We're going to raid those freaks from Brouge," the caller said.

"Okay, if anything, I'll hear from you then," Leo replied. "Wait a minute, I'd like to apologize for not paying for your therapy. I know you couldn't have done anything at the time, you couldn't have saved her even if you wanted to. Remember that," the caller added.

"Yeah... I'll remember. Take care," Leo replied, then hung up and went back to sleep.
