Chapter 2

"Wow," She had goosebumps. She'd heard about the place before. It was the coolest cinema ever... She didn't think it was the coolest because of the cinema but because they had so many private cinemas. How cool is that!! Each time people talked about it she got goosebumps just thinking about how awesome it'll be to be in a private cinema for days just binge-watching all she could think of.

But somehow that wasn't her topmost thought. She was starting to feel her sweaty palms rub against his not-so-sweaty palms ... It was so uncomfortable.

"uhm. My hand is sweaty" she said as she pulled it out of his grip.

"oh"

"Yeah"

Okay. That part was a little bit awkward even her anxiety-ridden mind couldn't deny it. They went ahead to book a space in one of the private cinemas and the lady told them they were lucky they got a space without reserving first...

"It's always packed from Mondays to Sundays. People have to reserve it weeks earlier" the lady said.

" Rich people drama. " was Linda's immediate reactionary thought to what the lady said.

The lady was exceptionally kind it made her smile a little. There was something so beautiful about kindness that Linda couldn't really get. She loved kind people maybe because she was a little bit far from kindness and wished she could be kind.

The lady took them to part of the building that was like a basement. It was a basement. They went into a long corridor and their room was the last one. She wondered how much it took the owner to build the whole place and when she asked the lady she simply said "I have no idea"

But when she asked the lady about how noises from different private cinemas didn't turn into huge chaos the lady started talking about some mumbo jumbo that she didn't care to listen to. Learning was only reserved for school. She couldn't deal with that extra stress in more than one place.

The room was perfect... It had a sofa that extended into a mattress and it was so comfortable. It was firm but in a soft kind of way. A bunch of large pillow things was in front of the sofa.

When the lady left it took her a few minutes to be back with a couple more workers with a lot of things in trays.

"Wow," she thought. It just kept getting better and better.

When the workers left, after telling them about the phone they could use if they needed anything more she noticed that James was even colder than he was when he first arrived. She had forgotten about him for a split second and then as she looked at him the little excitement that developed inside her died down.

She sat down in the usual back straight position which she did in order to indicate to whoever she was with that she was proper, alert, and totally uncomfortable. She didn't know why she was uncomfortable. She was starting to overthink things and she didn't like it so she laid back on the sofa and watched him as he fumbled with the large screen TV. She could've joined him but that job was too small for two people...

Light Blue polo shirt, dark purple casual shorts, white stockings, and white sneakers ... Why was he dressed like that? Like how he always did when he was out on one of his vacations. He even smelled like someone that was on vacation. She started to imagine if she had just decided to come out all sweaty; it would've been disastrous, at least very shameful. She thought it was weird for someone to dress older than their age... But what about her? What about her dress sense? What could she classify it as? She had no clue... She didn't even think about her dress sense at all. She just put on whatever she had in her wardrobe...

"Why are you dressed like it's freezing?" he asked her as if he read her mind and knew that she was thinking about outfits and judging the hell out of his.

She didn't answer but instead looked at herself, at the huge grey blanket hoodie and grey leggings and grey sneakers... She was also dressed up too but looked like a sibling to the sofa... Sometimes people get ahead of themselves and judge others for what they also do. Why were they dressed up? When it was just a night activity that they were going for? Well, you won't blame her ... It's not as if she had any idea where they were going. Was that a good enough excuse when she could've just simply asked? Not that it matters...

The movie was starting so James had to sit on the sofa, an arm's length away from her. It didn't bother her as it used to when she was still fresh into the university. Those days she appreciated the night a little differently than she did recently. She always loved to share cuddles with whomever she was with. Thinking about it somehow made her cringe. She knew she had the cleanest intentions but did they also think that? From what she learned recently people interpreted such things differently so they always thought she was being misleading. So she was glad they just stopped at appreciating each other's presence.

But damn that place was freezing!! "What kind of A.C. do these people have?" She thought. She was almost shivering even though she had a huge-ass grandmama sweater.

She loved the movie that was been played but her eyes betrayed her. They were heavy and she tried so much to be awake and enjoy such sweet luxury but she couldn't. The sleep felt like it would even be sweeter than the movie, especially to her who barely sleeps at night.

She found herself awake on a simultaneously rising and falling chest. 'What's going on?' She thought.

When she tried to stand up she couldn't. Something was holding her down. The few moments after waking up from sleep always seemed like that; confusing. Like she was entering a different world.

She laid still for a bit trying to get hold of her senses.
