If you swear an oath to the people who view you as a thief—to protect them with your skills—and pledge your service to me until your last breath, I will spare you from the gallows," Prince Rogba declared firmly.

"I swear to the people, my prince, and I vow to serve you," Ojo stammered, his voice trembling with the palpable fear of imminent death. The prince signaled, and his bodyguards promptly left.

"Prepare the arrangements," Prince Rogba commanded, and the guards began to release Ojo.

Ojo, in the presence of a small unit of people as witnesses, solemnly swore his oath, his voice resonating with sincerity, his eyes reflecting the weight of his newfound pledge.
