Ariana sat down in her usual spot, inhaling the cool, calming fresh air. What she had done back in the classroom felt nice, and she was happy she had done it. Resting her back on the bench, she closed her eyes. However, even with the warning she had given those girls, it didn't change the fact that she still needed help. Her mother's condition was deteriorating with each passing day, and if she couldn't find the money on time... she feared her mother would be gone.
What was she going to do? Where would she get the money from? She is ten thousand dollar short, and she had already spent money on food and medication. What were her options now?
Feeling a gentle tap on her shoulder, she opened her eyes and glanced at the person — it was none other than Jeff. What was he doing here?
"Hey," he greeted. Ariana hissed, attempting to stand up, but Jeff caught her hands.
"Excuse you, let go!" she yelled. What on Earth is he doing here? a how did he find her favorite spot in school.
"God, you're noisy. Can we at least talk?" he pleaded.
"I have nothing to talk to you about."
"I'm not letting go until you hear me out. Sit down, please," he begged.
Ariana grumbled as she sat back down. "So, what do you have to say?"
"I just want to apologize for how I behaved the first time we met. I didn't leave a good impression on you, and I'm sorry..."
"Wait, hold up... how do you know I attend this school?"
"Your friend told me..."
"Annie," she sighed.
"Look, the truth is, I like you. From the day I met you..."
"Dude, thank you for liking me, but I'm not interested in guys. I'm not saying that I'm gay; it's just that I don't have time for relationships. Can I go now?" Ariana stated.
"Okay, but I'll be here anytime you change your mind," he said with a warm smile.
"Whoa, what do you mean?"
"I am a transferred student to this school."
"Okay," Ariana stood up and left Jeff alone at her usual spot in school.
