Chapter 5: Deep discussion with her daughters

Spending together with her daughters for some time, it was now essential to psychologically enter the discussion with her children, as they all reached the rebellious ages and the consequences were terrible, possibly resulting in a breakdown of relationships. She needed to make amendments to fix many problems before things went south. Now that something tragic happened to this family gave Lireesa an opportunity.

Hey daughters Alleria, Sylvannas, Vereesa, and Lina were aged 195 years old, 98 years old, 31 years old, and 3 years old respectively. Now it looked like except for Lina, Lireesa's mental age was probably the youngest.

"Alleria, you give the impression of being unhappy and depressed before. Is there something wrong?" Lireesa pointed out the obvious but pretended not to understand and continue, "From tonight onward, you including your siblings can argue or discuss with me any doubts or disagreements you have. It's never good to suppress inside; you might damage our relationship unknowingly. So, let's start with Alleria."

"Hmm…" Alleria was speechless, her face telling how you know expression. "Anything, Mother?" Lireesa nodded and gave her a comforting look.

"Even if it makes you angry?" Alleria said with some trepidation, reminiscing how original Lireesa behaved when she became angry. "I don't wanna talk this now and drive you unconscious. How about another time?"

Lireesa just gave her a blank look. Silly girl, worrying about my health state but I'm more urgent to solve our misunderstanding more, she thought. She retorted: "It doesn't matter, I promise."

Still, Alleria gave her an unbelievable glance and then received an impatient intimate glare from her mother. She relented at last opening her mouth and closed again. This repeated several times until she signed. Although Lireesa's expression was not patient, she was definitely the calmest. Breathing deeply, Alleria said, "I'm not complaining, but to be a Windrunner is a shackle for me, especially for the eldest. People's expectations and demands are taken for granted by others, unless they experience it themselves, no one will realize how much pressure and burden I have to go through. I trained hard every day; even if I'm capable enough to be able to complete the task easily, no one will say, she;s a good seedling, very talented. Rather, they'll believe, this is Windrunners, what do you expect less? They don't see my hard work! It's just Windrunners' contribution."

Alleria continued mumbling her difficulties and her dislike for being imposed as an heir and from time to time sneak-peeked at Lireesa, worrying about her sudden outrage. After letting out everything inside her heart, Alleria felt much better and less burdened on her shoulders. Lireesa just smiled throughout the whole complaint and didn't seem to be affected. She asked, "Better now after telling your mother?"

Alleria nodded and was puzzled why Lireesa hadn't scolded her yet. After all, she knew how much her mother paid and expected from her. Lireesa said, "Why? Do you still want your mother's rage and scolding? It appears you really like being 'pampered' huh."

Alleria quickly shook her head like a rattle, afraid her imagined fear might come true.

"Of course, your mother is very disappointed and hurt," Lireesa said each word with difficulty as if she had a hard time chewing the news. Alleria's face showed guilt and remorse; she never wanted to hurt her mother. She should've kept it to herself. "However, Mom is very satisfied with your perseverance and results. I've always been proud of you Alleria. You are my pride. All of you girls are my little cottons, no one shall tarnish. I appreciate what you've thought and what you've been through. So, Alleria, I might really be a bit sad about your thoughts; but, I'm very happy you spoke it out. At least, we can solve it together. You and me, through dialogues just like normal parent and child."

She thought to herself, I never anticipate I'd become a good parent. A modern way of thinking really helps this situation. Luckily, she'd read those parenting books related to this discussion. She, then, laughed inwardly at herself.

Alleria gave an imperceptible nod and her eyes brightened after listening to her mother's answer, completely differing from what she had envisaged. Lireesa continued, "So, naturally, I'll listen to you but I expect the same from you what I asked for. Of course, it'll definitely not be my demand. Before we talked into details related to this, let me first know what you really want."

Alleria avoided her gaze and wholly laid down lazily, gauging her own desires genuinely. Silence presumed between the two; Sylvannas and Vereesa were also tacitly quiet, awaiting the answer. But what Alleria said next nearly tossed them out of the recliner, including Lireesa. Certainly, she wasn't going to slip, she just wanted to toss Alleria around. She replied simply, "I don't know."

Alleria gladly received a gift from her loving mother. Lireesa slapped her forehead with some force albeit well gentle. Alleria exclaimed and clutched her brow, her mouth pouted cutely and received chuckles from her sisters. Liresa thought, please you are grown up, nearly 200 years old, stop acting cute. Exasperated and annoyed, Lireesa now understood why the original she didn't solve the issue early. It wasn't that she didn't know; it was because she couldn't solve it completely. So, she threw Alleria more in the training camp to be more mature and immersed in strengthening herself. As an old lady, having 2500 years of experience was not for nothing, but this made the relationship only estranged.

Clasping Alleria's hand on the right and the other massaging her temple, Lireesa decided to say what she had in mind: "I kind of know what you want. You want other's acknowledgment. You don't want to stay inside the cage imposed by me. You wanna fly freely and independently achieve what you dream without my help. But my sweetheart, although I agree with your thoughts, I can't support it."

Lireesa glanced slightly at Alleria and found she'd closed her eyes. Only her uneven breathing showed she wasn't calm at the moment. Feeling the warmth from her daughter, Lireesa continued: "The situation is no matter what, your surname is Windrunners. In Quel'Thalas whether it is our enemy or the group who wanna take advantage of us, you cannot escape. You'll always be affected even from the dark. If you want to truly enjoy freedom, you should strengthen yourself and have your own power enough to deter them."

"Freedom isn't bestowed by others; you fight for it. Remember it," Lireesa spoke to ensure all her daughters understood. "Don't worry about the inheritance. After listening to you, I'm not gonna retired anytime soon. So, don't bother about it…..Alleria, how about we make it a deal?"

Alleria turned her head for more answers. She only heard her mother's advice; "Become stronger, joined the ranger legions so that your prestige and reputation can rise, and converse more with our family together. Take the burden off your shoulder, I'll carry it for you. Just train and enjoy your life while in the whole process. You merely need to have discipline. I believe you can do this." After receiving her reply, Lireesa turned her head to Sylvannas's side and saw her immediately straighten up her body. She smiled cheekily at her and Lireesa rolled her eyes at her, not wanting to say anything more. She ignored Sylvannas to give a small punishment and asked Vereesa instead.

Her courage disappeared as soon as she met her mother's clear eyes. Twirling her silver hair, Vereesa stammered out: "I don't want anything. I hope to play more and less training. I want my mother to accompany me whenever I played." Lireesa coughed, not expecting Vereesa's reply to choke her mother to helplessness. She thought the demand would be so serious because her daughter stuttered. Who would actually think her 30 years old daughter still wanted her mother to game together? She shook her head silently and thought, this is still one spoilt brat not maturing enough. It seems your mother hasn't seriously educated you yet. It's okay, wait until I'm free to give you enough love.

Vereesa shivered from the coldness behind her neck, rubbing it with her hands, and glanced around suspiciously why the surroundings become colder. Not wanting to pay attention any longer, it was now Sylvannas's turn, who was now sniffling with both hands on her mouth. Her eyes twinkled with amusement. Lireesa then turned her sight to Alleria. Now she realized, Alleria turned her body to the side with her trembling back against Lireesa. But Lireesa complained in her heart, can you not shake so hard your chair is even making a friction sound.

Speechless, Lireesa didn't want to bother anymore and probed Sylvannas: "How about you Sylvannas?" Sylvannas endured uncomfortable abruptness of laughter, lacking enough air to mouth her thoughts. Lireesa tested sarcastically, "Do you want your mom to give you a cup of water." Meeting her mother's stern eyes, she couldn't even have a slight courage to agree. Just kidding, who doesn't know what my mom raged is like?

Sylvannas pleaded with her mother: "I want nothing just one request. I don't wanna abide by the so-called rules and etiquette. I just wanna relax when I'm accompanying my family. With each other, no rules just simple respect is enough, I think." Lireesa was convinced of her second daughter. Looking at her future, at least becoming a queen made the whole world tremble after her name.

Lireesa thought, but your persuasion would be more convincing if you stop pointing your index finger against each other. She replied, "I agree, as long as it is not a public occasion, you can do what you like. I don't care. But you mustn't lose your self-respect, self-restraint, and attitudes toward your family."

Afterward, no longer bothering and a bit tired, she hugged Lina who was asleep on the recliner the whole time, and fell into dreamland. Tonight might be recognized as the most amazing day by her daughters. The youngest wouldn't notice a slight change in her mother, but the two eldest clearly understood their mother had significantly changed, which was for the greater good. She empathized with them and stated her requirements gently as a transaction instead of forcibly strictly demanding. She explained why she asked for it from her daughters. Alleria and Sylvannas had never ever felt so relaxed; they believed tonight would be the most fruitful day. The two looked at each other communicating the same meaning while their younger sister showed obliviousness like a saying went ignorance is bliss.

The night passed peacefully for the sisters, who had just recently lost their father. They looked forward to tomorrow along with their mother's guarantee and love. They were grateful to have her as a parent.
