The Trixions were wondering why their teammate was watching instead of helping. "Wait, he's leaving. I think he expected this human to be able to clear the base himself," one of them remarked.

Colonel Jones was also wondering where Augustus had gone. He had been inside the base for a while and hadn't seen or heard from Augustus. However, Colonel Jones trusted that Augustus would do well on his own, so he continued on his own mission.

Augustus pretended to leave the area but actually hid himself nearby, constantly watching Colonel Jones and the Trixions' movements.

Having noticed the formation in action for a while, Augustus had no knowledge or understanding of formations and how to deactivate or deal with them. He believed that using Colonel Jones as bait would be the best course of action.
