Chapter 7 Part I

After her daughter went up the stairs, Mrs. Tipsakun turned back to look at the young man who was a regular visitor to their home. “You too, doctor. You spoil her even when she doesn’t act very nice.”

“I’m a doctor, so I can understand the nature of pregnancy. A woman who has taken on the burden of protecting the child inside her while also preparing herself to take on the role of a mother needs a great deal more moral support and attention than the average person.”

“But I think you’ve spoiled Thara rotten, doctor,” Mrs. Tipsakun objected.

“Usually, a pregnant woman would have a husband to offer her protection and warmth, to give her love and attention. But Thara is going through this pregnancy all alone. I’ve often noticed the worry in her eyes. I just want her to be happy so that the emotional development of the children inside of her will also be good.”

“I have to apologize for not understanding any of this before.”
