Chapter 10 Part I

Pongket walked over to stand quietly by the riverside pavilion. In his head, there were only images of the young woman’s face stained by tears. They were embedded deep in his heart to the point where he could not remove them.

‘Was I too cruel to you? Or have I come too late?’ The young man pondered to himself.

“What did you talk about with Thara, Pong?” Madam Warakun came over to see her son after she had stood observing silently for a while.

“We talked about legal rights over the children.”

“Legally speaking, Sakunthara has sole rights over Kita and Nara because they were both born out of wedlock,” Madam Warakun noted because she was unaware of the fact that the two young people had drawn up a contract between themselves.

Everything that had happened over the past half hour had been observed by the madam. Sakunthara was crying her eyes out while Pongket appeared tense. Truth be told, the madam was more on Sakunthara’s side than her son’s.
