Chapter 16 Part III

“Sawasdee ka,” the young woman said sweetly into the phone. The person calling was surprised, but he realized she did not have his number. This was probably how she regularly talked to other people, except him.

“Are you coming back soon? The children have drunk almost all of the milk that was in the refrigerator,” the voice on the other end of the line claimed.

Although the young woman was arguing with him in her mind that she had checked the supply of milk in the refrigerator before she had come out and was assured that there were many bags left. She was certain that they had likely not run out, but she had to extract herself from this sort of situation as quickly as possible.

“The children’s milk has almost run out? Right now, I’m at Nonthaburi pier. I’ll take a motorcycle taxi back. It won’t take me long to get home.” Even though she knew it was him, she still spoke into the phone sweetly. That made the person calling even more surprised.
